    Overall Rating: 4 Star Review

    Duration of ownership:2 Weeks

Strengths: very basic interface, cheap, takes a beating in stride (8ft to a concrete sidewalk), I have Adobe Acrobat installed on it to view PDF documents

Weaknesses: needs add-on software such as Adobe Acrobat (free on Adobe's site and get 3.0 I know it works great), also not much room for games, but I only have a few installed and oxford dictionary

Overall Evaluation: I wanted something that could get dropped a few times every once in a while and work good. It's a shame that there is a 200MHz CPU in it and nothing to really open up on (like watching a video off of a SD card in PocketTV). If you want the SD slot get the Tungsten E2 and you'll be plenty happy with its other improvements as well (high res display at 320x320, Bluetooth, better CPU (even though they are both 200MHz one is an economy level CPU and one is a top of the line mobile intel CPU)).

    Duration of ownership:1 Years

Strengths: small size, low price, plethora of palm software

Weaknesses: low resolution screen, no memory card or bluetooth

Overall Evaluation: I love my Z22. I originally bought it for my mother to put medical textbooks on, but it didnt work out.I use it for notes and games particulary PocketCiv. Palm has tons of freeware and shareware and it is easy to beam programs from one palm to another over IR.I dont do any syncing with a PC. It would have been much better with a memory card, but palm has to show differences btwn their products. The lack of a high-res screen blocks you from playing some of the best games. Bummer

    Duration of ownership:8 Months

    Strengths: Lots of features

    Weaknesses: 8 month life

Overall Evaluation: My Z22 worked great for about 8 months of very, very light use. Then the screen developed problems. The touchscreen went bad and now nothing works. I have spent hours trying to solve this problem. Palm customer service is a complete joke (both phone and email). Customer service (via email) provided me instructions that made the problem worse. Customer service (via phone) advises I can return it for repairs for $70 (I didn't pay but about 85 for it to begin with!). Were I to do it again, I would pass on any kind of Palm - due to the extremely short warranty period (90 days) and the very poor customer service (both email and by phone). And $70 to fix an $85 device? What a joke that is.... My advice is to pass on this product and to look for a manufacturer that is prouder of their product and provides a longer warranty. ...

    Overall Rating: 2 Star Review

    Duration of ownership:7 Days

Strengths: The z22 is very user friendly and offers basic but reliable functionality.

Weaknesses: The software that comes with the z22 is of terrible quality. Mac installation does not sync with iCal or Address Book.

Overall Evaluation: The Palm Desktop Sync software that comes with the product is of extremely poor quality. It does not synchronize information between the Palm and iCal or Address Book. The suggestion given in the Palm website (using iSync) is equally faulty. The only solution is to buy a separate piece of software (MissingSync) at $39.95, yet it is strongly suggested to first uninstall the Palm software. And this is nearly impossible for a standard use. Even an expert user needs to sweat and resort to several online forums to find a solution. eventually the MissingSync software works fine and connects iCal and Address Book to your Palm. I strongly discourage any Mac user to install the Palm Desktop software.

    Overall Rating: 4 Star Review

    Duration of ownership:1

Strengths: 32 MB of memory, easy to use, color screen, and small price.

Weaknesses: Could use a memory card slot, no instruction booklet.

Overall Evaluation: The new re-branding effort by Palm involves removing the Zire and Tungsten series. The new TX and Z22 are helping Palm get money off of something besides Treos! With 32 MB of memory and a bright color screen, the price is way too low(in a good way). The design is sleek and resembles an iPod. The 5-Way navigator is easy to use and highly convenient. The Z22 also has a very wide variety of PIM programs and a nice CD with 3rd Party Software. It might have a very flexible design that might seem fragile, but it really is very sturdy(like the iPod Nano. Overall, anyone who just wants to get organized or is a PDA Collector like me, should consider looking at this $99 system.

    Duration of ownership:3 Months

Strengths: Easy to use, Bright Screen, lots of on-board memory

    Weaknesses: none so far

Overall Evaluation: My wife bought this after borrowing my Zire 21 a few times. She loves the bright screen and that we can make photos of our daughter the background screen. It has loads of memeory to hold lots of names, addresses, appointments, ganmes and photos. Realy easy to use software - Palm does it again.

    Overall Rating: 3 Star Review

    Duration of ownership:1 Months

Strengths: easy and straightforward to use, works well as an organizer, appointment book, etc.

Weaknesses: screen resolution is not adequate for viewing pictures, memory is only 32MB.

Overall Evaluation: This is a very nice unit for somebody like me who does not need cellphone, Bluetooth, wireless and other fancy stuff on their PDA, just the basics. It is easy to use and affordable. The screen resolution is not good though - ina picture of a sky you could clearly see the pixels. 32MB is adequate for an organizer, but you need more memory if you are going to download e-books on it.In conclusion, I wish they made this with Tungsten T5's screen and memory - this would have been perfect.

    Duration of ownership:6 Days

Strengths: Ease of Use, Good Price for Basic PDA Functionality

    Weaknesses: Flimsy and unreliable

Overall Evaluation: Upon first receiving my Z22, I thought I was in love. I could put by 2+ lb Franklin Planner into storage and rely on an electronic wonder to schedule my days and track my tasks. And for 5 days, it seemed that my dreams had come true. Unfortunately, on Day 6, it ceased to work despite having been treated with all the tender consideration that a new toy deserves. Daily hotsyncing has kept me from losing too much data, but I can't help but be reminded that paper never breaks down, and never becomes obsolete.

Strengths: Very easy to use for beginners.

    Weaknesses: Lack of expandability.

Overall Evaluation: This is really a great device for the tehno-novice folks. Has a good processor with more than enough memory for beginners. The reputation of Palm company as the manufacturer is reassuring. Can certainly be used as a versatile tool as well.
