Strengths: Great screen, well built /nice layout
Weaknesses: Originally slow with Win XP Pro/Media Center 2004
Overall Evaluation: I recently upgraded to Windows XP update RC2 (second edition??). Works MUCH better, much more "Zippy", like a different machine. Was VERY slow before (esp. for a 3Ghz Machine)... but now is much more responsive. Perhaps the fault is that of Microsoft not of Toshiba.....I preferred my Dell... but now I would say the playing field is more even....hmmm perhap Linux would improve things....

Strengths: Nice clear 17" monitor, beautifully designed with brushed aluminum, sturdy feel, good tech support, decent price
Weaknesses: slow hard drive (5400 rpm)should be 7200 rpm, very heavy, need to remove battery slot in order to hoop up tuner
Overall Evaluation: This is my 4th Toshiba laptop in about 2 years. I've liked them all but my biggest complaint is the slowness of the hard drive. Now that 7200 rpm drives are readily available, Toshiba offer that but they don't which is a disappointment since this one is their top of the line offering. Other than that I'm fairly happy with this one and will probably keep it till they decide to upgrade their top of the line models with a 7200 hard drive or buy from one of the many others who do offer it.

Strengths: So far it has been a good computer.
Weaknesses: Rebate status almost impossible to get.
Overall Evaluation: The P25-S609 notebook has been a good computer so far. I really like the wide screen. The keyboard is Hard to get use to. Would be better if it had a set of number keys. There is plenty of room for them. You must remove the TV tuner to install and use the battery. If you want your $200 rebate, I would not buy a Toshiba. I have been trying for almost a month to find out the status of my rebate. I have talked with several CS reps and Supervisors and they said that it takes 8 to 10 weeks just to find out the status, Then 6 more weeks before they mail them. Extremely slow. I wish now that I had not bought a Toshiba. Live and learn.
