Strengths: Good image quality, ease of install, one of the best PCI cards (excluding expensive CAD videocards) if you just want to run classic/legacy games and applications

Weaknesses: 3D might be lacking, although I have not tested it, lack of support from Trident, has a 1-second Trident logo splash screen when you boot up

Overall Evaluation: The Trident Blade3D 9880 is the top of the line for Trident's home/office use class. I own a Windows 95 Pentium MMX 233 computer, and I bought this card to replace an old Trident 9660, a big 5 year difference compared to the 9880. As I popped the videocard out of the box, I noticed that mine was equipped with Hynix memory chips.I'm into classic/dos games such as Raptor, Doom, Crusader, and C&C... I also use my old machine for making 2D animation. Although I'm not completely sure I could almost swear that the new 9880 produced smoother animations and better image quality than the 9660. I've tested it on tons of games and on Autodesk Animator Pro so far and it works great. I haven't tested video playback, my 3DS Max 2, or AutoCAD yet.It also includes a color correction menu where you see the slanted line on a chart to adjust color values.
