It has a built in webcam, so i do not need any accesories to carry around.looks wise it is one of the best. battery life is little bit low, but if you choose right setting you will get the listed bettry life or more.for the price sony should have installed XP professional on this.

Duration of ownership:3 Months
Strengths: Bright screen, thin & light, nearly fully loaded
Weaknesses: expensive
Overall Evaluation: This notebook from Sony is lightweight and powerful. It is loaded with 1.83 Due Core, 1 GB ram, double layer DVD burner, 5400rpm hard drive, webcam, fingerprint reader, wireless a/b/g, and two video systems, all in a compact package. Have upgraded the ram to 2GB PC2-5300 running at the same system bus speed. It takes less time to boot up. The notebook is preloaded with many applications, and quite a few are almost duplicate. On Sony's website there are instructions for you want to do clean installation of Windows XP. The two-tune color is very stylish. The feel of the keyboard is different. This computer has been working very well for the last three months, although the battery does not seem to hold its charge if the computer is not used for several days. Hope it is not battery problem.

Strengths: perfect balance between performance and portability
Weaknesses: expensive
Overall Evaluation: This laptop is just right in everything. Excellent choice if you are looking for a balance in performance and portability. If you want more power, just turn on the dedicated video card, and if you want more battery life, just use the integrated video card. Beautiful appearance also!

Duration of ownership:2 Months
Strengths: Fast and light, 100GB 5400RPM HD, double layer DVD burner, in-build web cam, full size keyboard
Weaknesses: Battery life is not very good
Overall Evaluation: I should say it's one of the best laptop out there. It's very beautiful, with a 13.3 inch screen, not very big nor is it very small. Light and fast that I'd like to carry it everywhere I go. It comes with 1GB RAM, enough for day to day work. Pretty easy to use, the only thing that I complain about is the battery life. It's not even close to the rated life battery life. The other thing you have to pay attention is if you want to install a new windows XP professional instead of the home edition that it comes with, you have to download all drivers and know exactly which order to install the drivers. Still I like it very much and would recommend it to anyone!

Strengths: Lots of extras
Weaknesses: None
Overall Evaluation: I love the integrated webcam with build in microphone because you do not need to carry a webcam and microphone. This laptop has dedicated NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 video card which is perfect if you use programs that requires a good video card. Also it is powerful enough to meet your expectations for sure. I just upgraded the ram from 1GB to 2GB. 100GB hard drive is more than enough to store your files. In summary, I love this laptop and recommend it.

Strengths: Lightweight 4 pounds,Loaded laptop
Weaknesses: Heavy 1 pound "Brick" power adapter, support, sony software slows down the system
Overall Evaluation: I bought this laptop at a office supply store and love it so far. It is a lightweight loaded laptop( 1.83 GHZ duocore,1GB Ram,beautiful 13.3" screen with builtin webcam, shock protection for the 100GB hard drive, dual graphics card which is novel concept) in built bluetooth worked well with my cellphones & Bluetooth headphone Surprises: it came with a 8x DVD burner though the specsheet says 2.4X Multi memory card reader, glad that sony is supporting formats other than the proprietary memory stick Good battery life atleast for me 4.5 hours in the stamina mode (Email/webbrowsing/word processing software) This is a "Made in Japan" model feels and runs very cool compared to the other vaio models like the FJ series which are made outside japan Thelaptop feels light but it is delicate. So be careful while handling it. Cons: The proprietary sony software slows down the vaio. It does not come with any recovery discs and you would expect this for an expensive laptop.Had to burn 2 DVD's and deleted the hidden partition to reclaim 6+GB space on the harddrive. Power adapter is heavy 1 lb vs the 4.1 for the laptop ! Need to boot up the machine to play a DVD movie.Wish sony provides a feature like in Toshiba/HP where u do not need to boot up the machine to play a movie. Hello ! Sony owns a movie studio & hope that they include this feature in the future Only 2 USB ports Need to reboot if you want to change the graphics mode from stamina to power(I believe this is more of an windows XP requirement)

Strengths: light yet powerful
Weaknesses: support and battery life
Overall Evaluation: It's my first Sony notebook, looks just like other sony products: stylish, fancy. The screen is bright and sharp. Good video card selection, fast CPU and hard disk. I can run some big Matlab calculations on it. And there IS a network connection on the top right side, to the contrary of what some people claims, though no Gigabit Ethernet. The battery life is somewhat disappointting, at least not long as advertised. And drivers are hard to come by so a fresh installation of other OP system is not easy.
