    Duration of ownership:2 Months

Strengths: - Works great in both directions- High quality casing & Nice Design- Good Price

    Weaknesses: - None

Overall Evaluation: When it comes to bluetooth Motorola seems to have a leading position. I own more than a dozen bluetooth devices, and few of them work as well as this Motorola device. This device is simple, yet elegant. It has no complicated menus...in fact it has NO menu at all. It does the job of streaming audio in both directions, and does it well. Pairing is a breeze and ranges is excellent. The quality of the audio is flawless, it DOES NOT distort even when covering long distances. I highly recommend this product. I use it to stream music from my PC to my Stereo; and from my Blackberry Curve to my stereo. Both work perfectly well.

Strengths: great sound quality, and very good range

Weaknesses: Slight delay very noticeable in games

Overall Evaluation: I bought the DC800 to get more use out of my HT820 headphones (which I absolutely love, and highly recommend). I use it for my computer and TV and it works great. The only thing I really don't like about it, is the slight delay on the sound. You don't notice it so much when watching television, but if you play a lot of videogames, you will definitely notice it. I love music games, and the delay makes it difficult to play them. Other than that, it's a great product.

Strengths: Great sound, dual functionality, attractive design

Weaknesses: No remote, no digital input/output

Overall Evaluation: I have tried some Motorola A2DP headphones and were extremely unimpressed with the sound quality. Not so with the DC800... in my tests the sound quality was fantastic--nearly at the level of a wired connection.First of all, as other reviewers have said, the device can input or output audio via bluetooth. If you have a bluetooth audio receiver (like A2DP headphones) then you can connect your stereo (using wires) to this so you can pipe audio wirelessly to the headphones. However, I think the more common scenario (and the only one I have tested) is using the device to accept an audio stream over bluetooth and output that over wires to your stereo system. I have tried that with my Dell Latitude D830 laptop as well as my HTC PPC6800 Windows Mobile phone and had no problems with either one. Once the connection is made audio comes through loud and clear. The only thing that kills the connection is running the microwave in the kitchen nextdoor (microwaves produce interference at 2.4Ghz--the same frequency that bluetooth uses). I really think this thing is top-notch for what it does. There is a remote control bluetooth profile (AVRCP) that can work with A2DP, and it would have been great if this unit supported that--but that's not really a big deal for me. It would also be great to have digital input/output for more flexibility in connection to audio sources/receivers. But both of those nitpicks are extremely minor. In short, you pretty much can't go wrong with the DC800 if you need an A2DP bridge.

    Duration of ownership:2 Days

Strengths: It's nice looking, very light and good ergonomic design. The range is much better than the typical USB dongle for the PC.

Weaknesses: It has no pass through RCA audio for input from TV/stereo. It can be charged with mini USB.

Overall Evaluation: This is a well designed product that does more than one functions. It's really a transceiver, not just an adapter, because it can receive and transmit audio. No problem with pairing with PC and headphones. The DSP chip must be very good because its sound is fantastic. It doesn't even get warm after hours of operation. I like its standby feature. It's very useful if you like to watch late night TV. Unless you don't mind disconnecting the RCA cables every time you switch from the TV/stereo speakers to your bluetooth headphones and vice versa, you may want to use it with an audio/RCA selector because it has no pass-through. This is my biggest and only complaint.

Strengths: Works nicely according to A2DP spec, sound transferred is clear.

Weaknesses: A2DP (Bluetooth Stereo Protocol) is early in adoption stage for computers.

Overall Evaluation: Transceiver can be used for a number of different applications, either playing to Bluetooth Stereo Headset from standard Audio in, or playing from a Bluetooth Stereo Source to a Stereo. No fault of Motorola, but not every Bluetooth dongle supports A2DP yet. My O/S investigation revealed Win XP doesn't support A2DP out of the box (have to get update from dongle manufacturer that works). Apple "Tiger" doesn't either (though there are some solutions reported on web). Web reports that Apple "Leopard" (due Oct 07) does, and even has an ADP2 Agent, so I have confidence Apple will be good to go in a few months. Palm O/S (with an add on from http://www.softick.com/bluetooth-audio/ ) works too (which is how I could test it playing to a stereo). Linux can (I'm told) with ALSA but I have to get an updated dongle to try myself. You can, according to Motorola, put two Transceivers in the mix, and that may work for some people too, because you can just connect one to your computer with regular audio cables, and one on the stereo, and I would expect that would work well. Just think about what you intend to do, and make sure your other pieces of hardware will support the A2DP protocol, or buy two of these. Then, enjoy.

Weaknesses: You cannot setup the device to "pass-through" the sounds - take the RCA input and send it to the RCA output. This means that you need a dedicated RCA input on your amplifier.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: good quality of sound. easy to set up, and two ways.

Weaknesses: No remote controls, especially considering it's bluetooth, and should support the Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP).

Overall Evaluation: Paired this with Motorola PC850 USB adaptor and Jabra A320s USB adaptor. Both works great. Didn't hear any dropp outs. So it's bettern than the other bluetooth wireless music product from Logitech DJ. Too bad, Motorola didn't put any remote control buttons on the unit, not sure if it supports AVRCP. What's the point to have a wireless music unit but you have to go back to the computer to skip songs? Plus is it's working two ways, it can stream music from your PC to any stereo, Or, stream music from any stereo to a bluetooth headphone. But you do have to manually pair the BT devices.

Strengths: Bluetooth signal is strong and I receive my music across my 1700 sq ft home. I love that my phone calls would beep into my headset while the music temporary stops for me to receive my calls. I do not miss my calls!

Weaknesses: The only weakness is that this product is not portable and does not work on the "Go". If it could have an AC/DC power, I would take it everywhere I go.

Overall Evaluation: I highly recommend this product for a plug in power bluetooth tranmitter. Though I did not know this when I bought it, I am very please with it.

Overall Evaluation: I bought this device to wirelessly connect all the music files on my laptop and desktop home network to my stereo system. The process of connecting was intuitive the moderately savvy, and the device work perfectly for my needs. I now have the entire music library on my computers instantly and wirelessly available for play on my home theater stereo system. I enjoy having the quantity of files combined with the computer media software all wirelessly usable. I've had no problems at all, I just rarely give 5 stars.
