Strengths: Descent speed & easy to set up

    Weaknesses: none so far

Overall Evaluation: This little unit is so easy to set up and the speed is great compare to 54 mbps. The 256 bit encription is great. All my devices and PC's at home connect to this wireless router with no problems. For the modest price I paid this router is great.

Strengths: Decent speed across the wireless network. Wireless Security strenght is great

Weaknesses: You have to make a physical in order to configure the router.

Overall Evaluation: Easy to setup router. Wireless security is great. Overall, this router works great. It is worth the money. So far any 802.11n that you purchase from this brand it's great. I installed another network router for gaming for a friend using a gaming router from this brand and it working great so far.

    Duration of ownership:5 Days

    Strengths: Visually interesting

Weaknesses: Unreliable. Performance deteriorates within months. Riddled with problems from dropping wireless connections to e-mail-related issues.

Overall Evaluation: This product represents another triumph in Linksys's quest to continue providing $160 paperweights. The third Linksys router to die in our office - and the last - this router made it less than five months before it began dropping connections on a regular basis, and with increasing frequency. Even the wired connections running through the router are now unreliable, requiring more-than-daily power cycling. The router has been more or less panned by reviewers at the PC Magazine and CNet sites. If this is how Linksys is going to build routers, perhaps Cisco should fold it up and focus on its own router line.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Solid performance over a nice distance. Fast speeds on file transfers, cool looking.

Weaknesses: Questioning the connection I am getting with a wireless print server. Also Linksys.

Overall Evaluation: Just upgraded a client with this router, put the wireless N card in the upstairs PC and the transfer rates are amazing. Sharing files even to the Laptop with a G card were slightly better. BUY THIS ROUTER!

Overall Evaluation: Notice the Linux and Mac users don't have a issue with dropped connections or slow performance. I found this odd too when I was working on my linux laptop. Than it hit me, good ol windoze isn't reading the connection correctly. Go to your router, nab the Fragmentation Threshold, the listen interval, the RTS Threshold and the transmit rate settings. Match those settings in windows by right clicking on your connection icon in the system tray, clicking "status", then "Properties", then click on configure next to your nic card, select the advanced tab. Now match up the info. This should fix the issue, it has for me. Been running solid now with no drops!Good ol windoze! :-)

    Duration of ownership:35 Days

Strengths: Great Signal range (contrary to other reviews), cool design, compatible with other linksys products, consistent signal, strong encryption (up to 256-bit WPA2)

Weaknesses: Runs a little hot, initial setup was a little harder than previous G routers, may have to continue to update drivers since technology is only in its draft stages.

Overall Evaluation: I've had this product for a little over a month and have nothing negative to say about it. Compared to the WRT54G router I had previously, this WRT300N is amazing. My signal range has nearly tripled, which is amazing for my very old house with a ton of thick walls. I had no problem getting this to work with older linksys products, too. The web interface for this is identical to that of the older Linksys Wireless G routers, which isn't a problem at all because it's obvious that Linksys is trying to create a familiar interface across their product lines so that users are familiar with each new product they get.The only real problem I had was setting it up. I couldn't get it to work at first, but after I updated to the newest drivers everything worked fine.Update the drivers and you'll be fine! I honestly have no idea what all the others are complaining about. This product is great.

Strengths: Works Good very great range. I can surf the web from my backyard.

Weaknesses: Sometimes it disconnects a little more than I would like it

Overall Evaluation: Overall I recommend this product to all users especially if you are in business. This router has a range 12 times more than that of Wireless G. For its value I would buy it because of the disparity between this product and the Wireless G.

    Duration of ownership:4 Months

    Strengths: Range, ease of set-up.

    Weaknesses: None evident

Overall Evaluation: I have installed this item in both of our homes, and each time the installation (replacing older 802.11g wireless routers) went without a hitch. One of the units I bought was a firmware upgrade behind, so I flashed it and since then, no problems to report. They have roughly doubled the signal coverage in each of the houses (one a 5,500 sq. ft. two-storey with high ceilings on the main floor and the WRT300N located in a cabinet on the back wall of the attached garage, the other a 2,850 sq. ft. browstone with ultra-high ceiling on the ground floor and the unit housed in a kitchen cabinet at roughly the center of the ground floor). I see a number of unhappy reviews, don't know what caused your problems, but I'm a happy camper. The ethernet distribution works fine, too.
