    Overall Rating: 1 Star Review

    Duration of ownership:4 Years

Strengths: Gets the job done to an extent.

Weaknesses: Looses connections frequenlty and constantly needs to be reset. If you want to add a new device, put aside at least 4 hours. Don't even think about port-forwarding or hosting a server. Complete mess.

Overall Evaluation: Crap. Stay away. I had trouble adding my new laptop to the network. When I called dlink, they told me it was something wrong with my new laptop. 4 hours later, I figure out that the router was locked and I had to do some pretty crazy stuff to unlock it. WORST PRODUCT EVER. NEVER GOING WITH DLINK AGAIN.

    Strengths: Reliable, speed, price

    Weaknesses: N/A

Overall Evaluation: I bought this device cheap over a year ago and never had problems. The connection is always fast and it never drops or bounces. This is my second D-Link router and I have the to the interface is pretty easy to follow. At any given time I have multiples computers (desktop, laptops, PSP, iPhone, iPod, WII) connected online and no problem at all. I have this router in the basement while most of my devices are upstairs on the second floor and I still get strong signals despite walls and floors.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: the lights are really pretty with the rest of the blinking lights that make up my computer setup.

Weaknesses: how about holding a connection for more then 2 minutes

Overall Evaluation: You would do the world a favor--if you EVER decided on purchasing this product--if you smashed the box to bits in the parking lot, turned around, walked BACK into the store, and bought a better \\\\\\\\\'effing router. Essentially then you spent the money on a broken box and still had to buy a new router, but that is the price for making a **stupid** purchase. I think i shall take my advice and do what i shoulda done a long time ago. It\\\\\\\\\'s what i get for making a stupid purchase.

    Duration of ownership:30 Days

Strengths: Free after rebate with new laptop.

Weaknesses: WPA/WPA2 simultaneous mode does not work with my WPA client.

Overall Evaluation: I already have a good G router but this one came free after rebates with a new laptop. . Always use wi-fi security. WEP is not very good, WPA and WPA2 are a lot better while WPA is good for home use, WPA2 is better. This router supports all 3 modes. . Newer routers have a wi-fi mode where they can run both the WPA and WPA2 security modes at the same time with different clients. My TRENDnet TEW-452BRP does this. It connects to my two laptops using the WPA2 security mode. It (the TRENDnet) also connects to an older desk top using WPA mode at the same time. . The D-Link router also has the simultaneous WPA/WPA2 mode. However, it will not connect to my WPA client in this mode. I updated to the latest firmware, 1.04, and this did not help so I'm using my TRENDent router and not the DLink. . According to DLink's web site, there are 3 hardware revisions for the DLink WBR1310, revisions A, B, and D. I don't know what happened to revision C. My WBR1310 is revision A. Maybe the WPA/WPA2 problem has been corrected in version D or later.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: vertical stand is nice, price was right.

Weaknesses: CANNOT hold a signal for more than 15 minutes, resets admin password at random.

Overall Evaluation: Stay away from this router. Seriously. I was in search of a basic wireless router to set up a network in my apartment, and ended up picking this guy over the similarly priced Linksys. What a mistake. I\\\'ve owned Dlink products in the past (cable modem, a different router) and I usually feel they perform better than most other brands--- they really dropped the ball on this one. Mistakenly, I didn\\\'t check any reviews before buying it, but if you look, you\\\'ll see the same thing over and over. The WBR-1310 drops its wireless signals, without fail, every 5-15 minutes. Not once, in the entire time I owned it (which was only 2 weeks untill I finally got fed up enough to return it) did it hold a signal for over 15 minutes. This resulted in tons of frustration having to reconnect to it multiple times any time I wanted to use the internet. At first I thought it might just be some of the settings, so after a couple days of putting up with it, I tried to go back into the settings to see if something was wrong there. Low and behold, I couldn\\\'t even log in. It simply changed my password! What a joke. After that happened I decided to see if I was going crazy, or if other people were having problems. Looking on pricegrabber and other websites, I can see its not just me--- the dropped signals and password changes seem to be very common. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this piece of junk

Strengths: Fast, always connected. No problems after 1 year of use.

    Weaknesses: Can't think of any.

Overall Evaluation: I bought this router from NewEgg and have had no problems with it in a year of use. Always connected and fast. I use it with a desktop and two laptops. Fast setup and easy to use for a non-techie. I loved the price and the reliability of the performance. Plan to buy another for college student daughter.

Strengths: Easy to use when it worksCompact designCheap

Weaknesses: Cheap for a reasonForgets admin password after about 24-hoursD-link support useless

Overall Evaluation: When I first got this router I was very happy with it. Then one day I tried to log back into it to changes some settings. It would not accept the password I was using. Ok maybe I put something different as the password(highly unlikely). Held the reset button in to set it back to factory defaults and configured it the way I wanted and it works fine. Couple days later and again the password doesn't work. Set it back to defaults again and couple days later same problem. I have found several forum discussion topics on this problems and there still is not fix for it. D-link makes it seem like they have never heard of this issue and offer stupid fixes that obviously don't work. If I hadn't lost the receipt this thing would have been returned already.

    Duration of ownership:6 Months

    Strengths: Cheap, decent signal

Weaknesses: Frequent loss of connection, frequent hard lockups, firmware updates don't help.

Overall Evaluation: I'm not prone to "worst XYZ ever" reviews, but this router has been extremely frustrating and problematic. Ever since we installed it, it would drop connection for 5-15 minutes at random times of day. Frustrating, but tolerable. Lately, though, it has been freezing up completely - we have to hard reboot (by unplugging it) at least 3-5 times a week.I'm a relatively competent computer user and so I didn't hesitate to track down the latest firmware and flash the unit... the upgrade went smoothly enough, but unfortunately didn't solve any of the problems! It still freezes very frequently and none of the support documentation or FAQs address my issues. I'll probably have to buy a new router altogether... what a pain.Do yourself a favor, spend the extra $20 and get a decent router, this one is cheap but not enough to justify the bad performance.
