Strengths: signal, ease of use, style
Weaknesses: none
Overall Evaluation: I'm a huge fan of Linksys products, and the takeover by Cisco doesn't seem to have damaged them in any way. This product is pretty much 100% advertised for Windows users, but I also use it for my Apple computers (Airport/AirportExtreme enabled) and have no problem whatsoever. It's very easy to install, and the web-based administrative interface is full of features that you can grow into or just ignore. I already had a Linksys router for years with the sambe stackable design, but added this one to it so I could start my wireless network. The connection speed is very fast, and for simple things like email or web surfing, there is no noticable difference between this and my wired computers. Even with downloads, it's very fast.

Strengths: easy setup - excellent tech support
Weaknesses: manuals
Overall Evaluation: I have had the DLink superG for about 4 or 5 months now. It was working flawlessly with my old dell laptop. However, when I got my new laptop with XP Pro, it gave me some problems. I tried to suffer with it for a while before actually calling tech support. When I did call, the were extremely friendly and helpful. I actually talked to someone in California and not India or the Philippines. Nice to know they don't offshore tech support! The service tech walked me through the configurations needed to make the router work properly and gave me a case id number if I have problems in the future. Great support staff. I'd reccomend DLink to anyone.

Strengths: Easy setup. Simple installation.
Weaknesses: Web base configuration was a little confusing.
Overall Evaluation: Great product. Range was perfect for my applications. Easy setup/installation. The replacement of the old router with this one was trasparent. Web base configuration was a little tricky to follow/understand.

Strengths: Builds on the strenghts of the WRT54Gv2 by adding SpeedBooster (Broadcom's Afterburner technology for 35% father throughput on 802.11g) and twice the Flash and System RAM.
Weaknesses: 12V power supply makes it incompatible with Linksys WAPPOE Power over Ethernet kit.
Overall Evaluation: This highly flexible router is great for both networking novices and home networking gurus. For the power user there are TONS of features that can be added through 3rd party firmware (www.linksysinfo.org for Linksys Users Group & firmware info). For the novice, the router is plug and play. I purchased the WRT54GS to complement my current WRT54G v1.0 in a WDS network. So far, the GS only seems faster and more stable - a great evolution of an already great product!

Strengths: Takes up little space, easy install, straight forward instructions, great customer support, easy to read indicator lights
Weaknesses: none that I've found
Overall Evaluation: I researched several wireless routers and found the Linksys WIRELESS G BROADBAND ROUTER WITH SPEEDBOOSTER the best one to fit my needs. Also, I found the test results at http://www.pcmag.com rated the Linksys WIRELESS G BROADBAND ROUTER WITH SPEEDBOOSTER as having the best performance. This is the first router I've owned, and I was very pleased with how quickly I was able to set it up. Calling the customer support number, I was able to speak to a representative in a short amount of time and all of my questions were answered quickly and efficiently. I highly recommend this router to anyone in the market for a wireless router.

Strengths: Inexpensive, parental controls, easy setup
Weaknesses: Poor technical support, parental controls didn't work at first.
Overall Evaluation: I was using a Netgear 802.11b router and wanted to move up to a 802.11g router. I was going to buy another Netgear router until I read about the parental control feature of the WRT54GS router. This feature requires you to pay a subscription but I thought it would be well worth it. My son has his own computer which I had parental control software installed on. This software worked great but when he used the computer in the familyroom there was no protection. With this Linksys router whenever he opens a browser he has to sign on to the account I set up for him; he's protected no mater what computer on the network he uses. This worked for about a week then it quit working. It works by somehow using Netopia's server which evidentially goes down a lot. The router is very easy to set up and the parental controls is very customizable; I just wish it would work all the time. Tech support is no help. --- They must have worked out their problem with the Parental Controls because it works great now.
