    Duration of ownership:8 Months

Strengths: The 3" screen is one of the best features. The ease in the menu is real friendly as well. The little icons on top are handy and the zoom comes in real tight as well.

Weaknesses: Unfortunately the weaknesses are stronger than the strengths.

Overall Evaluation: The noise the camera makes when you turn it on is a killer. The charging dock is a cheap piece of plastic and it is real difficult getting the camera on it properly. You have to watch out for which end of this little contact is curved. This DOES mean a lot. I know someone who stripped theirs trying to get it on and off. The camera is under warranty for one year. And GOD forbid something goes wrong. I have just had the experience. You reach some county that I'm not sure is on the map. They speak with thick accents which makes it so difficult to hear AND understand. They switch you from person to person .. all the time asking for a case number and your phone number. Why is beyond me. They only switch you to someone else who asks you the same set of ridiculous questings. Do NOT contact them on their online tech site. There is a delay.. usually between 4 to 8 min. so you are sitting there wasting a lot of time. They don't replace your camera with a new one. PLEASE NOTE THIS!!! They want and DO send you a refurbished one, which right off the bat tells me I am getting someone else's headache.THEN they want a credit card number so you send back the broken camera within 15 days. That is it MUST leave your house in 3 days for them to get it in TX in time. IF they don't.. and you are late.. too bad. Your card is charged the full amt. of a camera!!! BEWARD of THIS!!... I need to replace my charging dock. After two hours on the computer last night with some ding dong who couldn't get this story straight I ended up clicking off the computer. He got on my last nerve. Only to have him send me an apology today for the "communication" problem. He was talking about a different camera the whole time .. NO matter WHAT I told him.. he didnt' care. Today he did.. Anyway today.. after another two hour phone call (no kidding)... explaining the dock... or rather what I perceive the dock to be (!!!)... they tell me that its only under warranty for 3 MONTHS!!! Not a year like the camera. BE VERY CAREFUL with this dock. Be careful putting your camera on it. Otherwise.. be prepared to shell out l$68 for a new one!! I truly would skip this camera and look in Consumers for their recommendations. The great 3" screen is just not worth the craziness you will go though if it breaks. Save all your paper work too. Look for a good tech service company. ONe that isn't out in the boon docks of Mongo Mongo country!! I will have to wait the weekend out because the STUPIDvisor tells me the manager only works Mon. to Fri.. and that he'll call me on Tuesday with the verdict. Will I or won't I get the dock since I only used it 3 times since Oct 06. Hope this helps someone. I saw a post online about them sending out refurbised cameras somewhere online.. I wish I heeded this writers' frustration

    Duration of ownership:10 Weeks

Strengths: All the powerful features in a compact size. 10mp, 3" lcd, zoom

Weaknesses: Max. 2 gig SD card.

Overall Evaluation: The camera is loaded with great features in a compact size. The 3 inch LCD display is great as it really lets us see what we are shooting. The display also allows for sharing pictures with family and friends in an easy to view format plus the pictures look great. The zoom feature works really well and it maintains focus thought-out the zoom. The only draw back is that the camera only supports up to 2 G-SD ram.

    Duration of ownership:1 Days

    Strengths: 10mp rwesolution. 3'inch screen!!

Weaknesses: a few but not things that affect image quality

Overall Evaluation: I got this camera after seeing it in a TV show in this year favorite Christimas Gifts..The next day I begged and got it.It's been two days now with the camera. When I went to the store to pick it up, The first thing I saw, was the SMALL box it comes in.I opened it, and immediatly put the battery in, it's kinda hard or annoying the way you have to open the battery/memory compartment door. But youll get over it since you don't have to open it that much. anyway. I turned on the camera, and changed all the setting and stuff really easy to do.I took a picture, and was kinda sorprised at the quality and the colors look really vivid..First off, Things included with the camera:HP R967 Digital Camera3 Manuals ~QUICK START GUIDE ~ wARRANTY AND REGULATORY INFORMATION ~ QUICK START GUIDE (SPANISH)HP Photosmart SoftwareDock insert'Dock/battery chargerUSB cable for DOCKAC adapter for DOCK``WHAT? NO AV CABLE?`` TRUE!! :(================Camera:Very slick and modern desing, love the silver color on it looks really pretty, it's a small camera but not small compared to the CASIO camera!! The buttons on the camera are really well palced, eveything is very easy to locate. a 3' screen that's the main reason I bought it, the other reason, 10MP at $314.00!, come on!!! cheap!!Camera Results: I have been only taking pictures at 10MP [normal] setting. The pictures come out really great. Love the Auto Macro feature!! it's really helpful, like when your taking all kinds of pictures you dont have to go to the menu and choose macro saves time and also helps by auto detecting when macro is needed!.Has lot's of editing features on the camera like adding borders, or artist effects' or the FAMOUS SLIMMING effect, that's the only effect I use!! J/P !!Bottom line, this camera is desinged really good, has lot's of options, for the regular point-and-shoot person to the almost pre-professional photographer!!!.Let's you control almost anything, makes me not miss my previous camera (kodak z760) wich a few mothns ago I replaced with a CASIO Z60 and really dislike so had to return it. Now I replaced it with this one. First off when your taking pictures in a very low light room, you get noise in the screen but once you take the picture the noise is gone..OHH YEAH, and the zoom,, the optical zoom will only get you a couple of feet closer but the digital zoom wow now that's a zoom zoom!! really great, but like with any otherdigital zoom it will affect the result of the image quality, so if you don't need the zoom DON'T USE IT, come on, stand up and get closer to your subject, and hey, you'll save battery life and you'llhave really quality pictures with out the digital zoom noise!!VIDEO:I have not use the video option that much, I'm not a video person., but I did took a test video. and having it set at the highest setting, video is ok if not great.GIve it a thumbs up, since it does let you zoom in and out while recording video. But the speaker on the camera is not that loud, even if you have the volume at the highest setting.. ========Conlusion; I paid $339.40 including tax for it, not bad, since you are getting a 10MP digital camera, with lots of options and VIDEO with sound and as an extra bonus;a 3' inch SCREEENNN TaDa!!Very well made, now I can take it everywhere,[like i didn't do it before] but without the big bulky bag!! Right now I carry it in a small makeup bag...THE ONLY CONS I FOUND;NO AV cable supplied!! I really wanted one since sometimes I do plug in my camera's to take pictures or to show off pictures on the TV :(The Dock/Battery charger; fells and looks CHEAP!!! yeah you know; black plastic, no buttons, nothing just a black plactic thingy. You put the camera in and the only indicator that the battery is charging is the blue led light on the camera, blinking= charging, Solid BLUe= Charged!.. and the USB and power cords are at the right sideof the dock, I would have really prefer for them beiing in the back.Battery, dosn't last that much, but changin the DISPLAY BRIGHTNESS TO [LOW] really helps, even at LOW the screen is bright enough to see. I'm gonna saveup some money to buy some extra batteries, I hope you do that too, you can get them at ebay!!When you take a picture and quickly want to see the picture, the camera frezzes for like 3 seconds!! that's kinda annoying , but dosn't happend all the time, so choose the 2 secod photo preview in the camera's setting, but me , I don't like it.Really like, that HP uses SD cards as it's media for this camera, really affordable and convinient, I'm using a 1gb card. [Now dont go off to buy a 2gb card, since everything that live's will die, and that applies to memory cards too. Memory cards have a certain amount of read/write limits. depending on your card's manufactorer.1gb is enough and will last like a year or even more, depends how much you use it... but they are really affordable a 1GB Sd memory card NEW at ebay.com will run at 22.00 tops
