    Duration of ownership:12 Months

Strengths: compact design, good daylight exposures and sharp images. I have taked 5000 photos thus far.

Weaknesses: can't see the lcd image in many situations, faulty batery cover and lense protector

Overall Evaluation: Soon after I purchased this camera I had it in a jacket pocket. As I picked my jacket up from the floor it 'rolled' out, fell only two inches and landed on the corner breaking off the tab that keeps the battery cover closed. So much for shockproof. I could only send it in, they didn't honor their warranty and before they would send it back required a thorough inspection, costing me 2/3 the price of the brand new camera. In sunlight and dim light the LCD is worthless-I have gotten good at point-n-shoot. Now the shutter protector stays half open when off -again, so much for weather proof. I am already looking for a replacement. Don't buy, there is better for the price.

    Duration of ownership:2 Weeks

Strengths: Compact design, excellent resolution, and if you purchase a 1 GB memory card it allows up to 45 minutes of video. Stabilization is an excellent feature as well.

Weaknesses: The speed at which the camera captures the picture is slightly slower than I expected, but not a problem in most circumstances.

Overall Evaluation: So far I've been really impressed with this camera's vast array of abilities. There are many different photo options; landscape, portrait, etc. The stabilization like I said is great because normally pictures without a flash have a hazy effect due to movement that doesn't happen with the Olympus. I wish the waterproof case wasn't so pricey, 250$ because it would be great for the beach.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Size, weight, functionality, ease-of-use, above average zoom, bright LCD

Weaknesses: Comparatively slow start-up/shutter, hard to see LCD in bright sunlight, pricey

Overall Evaluation: I'm a big Olympus fan so there's some bias in my opinion. Having said that, there's little else for me to add other than to say, "BUY THIS CAMERA NOW!" (LOL.) It's a sweet little camera that packs a big wallop! Yes, it's pricey -- comparatively speaking. But you're getting a 5X zoom, 7.1 megapixels of picture and easy (re: intuitive and informative) functionality for the $20-$30 extra bucks. I wish the shutter were a tad faster, but I wish the same in my high-end, ultra-expensive (re: house mortgage expensive) digital SLR! I've been really happy with my pocket-sized Minolta-Konica XG, so when it came time to upgrade, I looked at lots of alternatives (Sony, Kodak, etc.). There were drawbacks to every one (including the Olympus 750). But on a point-for-point basis, the 750 leads the pack.
