    Duration of ownership:4 Days

Strengths: small dimensions, multiple functions (4 in one fax, copy, printer, scanner) long term usage of laser cartridge, good for small business.

Weaknesses: does not have any printer cables to connect to the computer (bought 3 printers in the last 2 years, the first 2 had at least the USB cable, but the third one is missing even that one!!!).

Overall Evaluation: It is a very handy gadget! The feeder allows for quick copying and faxing (I think up to 50 pages). The manual feeding tray is usefull for double side copying and for printing envelope addresses. The NOT INCLUDED USB printer cable is relatively easy to get from other devices (or I'm assuming from the store as well, and I don't think it is expensive!).

    Strengths: great text quality

Weaknesses: paper handling is relatively limited

Overall Evaluation: Easy set up. Good choice for home office and small business users. Excellent scanning, faxing, and copying capabilities. Short warm-up time. I got it for $xx after coupon. High-quality printer at an excellent price.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Decent all-in-one abilities, decent print jobs in a reasonable amount of warm-up time, and small footprint.

Weaknesses: No wireless capabilities and paper tray a bit on the small side.

Overall Evaluation: I'm very happy with my purchase. I think the quality of the laser printing is reasonable for the price...especially because it's able to fax/scan/copy/etc. It's good for a small office with a low number of print jobs per day.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Fast Laser Printing, Good Faxing - especially with the top auto-feeding tray, good low print cost per page, 2000 pages on a toner for $70, INCREDIBLY RELIABLE as I use it for Real Estate and business

Weaknesses: Very few if any, but the paper tray could hold more paper, and maybe a duplex option (I know it's too expensive of an option for HP), and lacks Wireless connectivity (I'm really nit-picking here)

Overall Evaluation: This is one of HP's BEST LaserJet All-in-One printers. This was is one of the better most reliable, and high quality printer that they've made in a while. High print quality, good faxing with solid performance. The top tray for loading faxes is really great and I use it to load 70 page Real Estate contracts without having to wait by the machine. You get about 2000+ pages printed on a $70 or cheaper toner cartridge giving you a pretty good low cost per print. This printer DOES NOT have the jamming problems which a lot of the older HP Laserjets do have. It doesn't eat up 3 or 4 sheets of paper at once and it's absolutely a blast because of the faxing, scanning, copying, and laser printing. Simply amazing!

    Updated:02-05-05

    Duration of ownership:3 Months

Strengths: Quality of prints and copies.

    Weaknesses: Expensive and short-lasting toner.

Overall Evaluation: Bought 11/14/2004. Used in a small office with 9 employees. Copies are a must with monthly duty cycle of about 5,000. I thought this could take it; however, it had problems keeping up with demand. After the first week of use, as expected, the original toner had to be replaced. I expected the new HP toner to last longer. I was disappointed, it only lasted 2 weeks. This time I set the copies to "less dark", about 3 bars to the left, and also set the printer to econo mode. I would also shake the toner when the toner low came on. The quality would start to run down. So,this only bought me 2.5 weeks. Therefore, estimated toner use of 2 per month @ around $60 a piece = $120/month. After 3 months of use, you'd think I would have about 6 toners. However, I have 8 toner catridges for recycling. Our usage fluctuates depending on "high maintenance" customers. Now the bad news. The 3030 has started to consistently jam the blank paper in the first stage of the roller. Since it is still under warranty, I called HP for options. 1) I could take it to an authorized HP product repair center and have it fixed for free. However, the nearest is 20 miles away from the business. 2) I could ship it to HP for free repair but would have to pay the shipping cost to and from. 3) I could pay $35 for a refurbished one from HP that would take care of the shipping bill in exchange for my malfunctioning multifunction printer. I took option 3...the multifunction malfunctioned after 2 days of use. Came in to work, switched it to "on" and no power registering. (I do plug all my electronics on 350VA Back-UPS). Tried to plug it directly to the wall outlet and jiggled the power connection on the back with no success. Now, I am stuck with 2 malfunctioning multifunction printers. Will deal with HP soon...and will write an update.update 2/26/05HP sent a refurbished one again and currently performs well. no glitches. the tech support said that if anything happens to this one, call them back, to get another one for "free". I will keep this up until nov 2005 since my original printer warranty runs out by that time. am satisfied with the support. thanks HP. keep up the customer satisfaction and i'll be your customer.

    Strengths: fast, easy to use

Weaknesses: fax to computer feature is not easy to use

Overall Evaluation: I just got this item for one week. So far everything looks great. It's fast and very easy to use. The weakness is the fax to computer feature. They doesn't put the clear instruction in the manual about this feature. Everything else is perfect. I recommend it to everybody!

    Strengths:

    Weaknesses:

Overall Evaluation: Well packaged by Hewlett-Packard. The set-up instructions were very clear, did it all in less than an hour, and I'm no techie. The printer does everything it's supposed to. You can start a fax or scan by either pressing the buttons or with the installation software. While it does color scanning, the toner cartridge is black and white. As long as you have no need of a color printout, this is a reasonably priced high-quality printer.

    Duration of ownership:1 Weeks

Strengths: - Well designed in terms of features, look and feel.- Easy set up.- Has it all.

    Weaknesses: - None yet.

Overall Evaluation: This machine has it all - but the price reflects it. Other models (eg HP 3015 better value) if you can live without the flatbed. Machine works great out of the box. Have been warned to expect broken feeder arm within the first year and potential problems with the bulb. So far so good though. Besides all that, the size/shape/cosmetic qualities of this machine are fantastic.
