    Duration of ownership:2 Months

Strengths: Excellent quality prints, seperate ink cartridges, good cartridge life.

Weaknesses: A bit large, a bit noisy, defective cartridge

Overall Evaluation: The major function of this device is to print and it does so very well. It is a bit noisy, even on the quiet setting, and sounds a little cheap while it is printing. I found it very easy to assemble. I had a problem with one geniune Canon ink cartridge not being recognized. A quick call to Canon CS and a new one was shipped immediately. Apparently though there is a bit of an issue with the this printer and its #8 cartridges per the rep. One nice touch is that it comes with a separate black cartridge...larger and cheaper...for text printing. Scanning is fine, nothing extraordinary, but more than adequate for my needs. I haven't printed photographs on photo paper yet, just plain paper, but they were fine.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Cost, speed, and print quality

    Weaknesses: Size

Overall Evaluation: I purchased this for my daughter who will be in a dorm room in the fall, figuring she could ill-afford the clutter of multiple machines. I've always avoided multi-purpose devices feeling that they required inevitable performance sacrifices, but that doesn't seem to be a big problem with the MP600. The print quality is better than any ink-jet I've previously owned; the photo printing is better than my Epson 785EPX; the scan and copy capabilities are not bad (not as good as my Perfection 4490). Set-up is a breeze, and the card reader, display, and photo print options are great

    Strengths: Looks

    Weaknesses: Support and Service

Overall Evaluation: I had this product for 3 days and on the third it breaks. All it does is paper Jam and display error messages. I hate this thing. Its so big and sometimes its hard to see if you got the whole paper jam out. I got a midterm tomorrow and this thing doesn't work.. Please and I don't think the photo quality is that well. I don't know what else to buy but please don't get this machine thinking its a miracle at a low price..... This is really what you pay for....crap. Look at some other printers cause this one stinks....

    Duration of ownership:1 Months

Strengths: ease of use;2 paper feeders;copy, scan, print from pc;excellent photo quality

    Weaknesses: no fax

Overall Evaluation: I have owned an HP and then an AIO Epson. Both printers had frequent paper jams & other annoying quirks. The Epson was an upgrade from the HP to get better photo quality. It was a big disappointment. Now, I bought this Canon after much research on the web and with some trepidation. It is amazing!!! Fabulous photo quality (similar to Shutterfly). Easy to use. Paper feeds from both sources easily. I keep copy paper in one and photo paper in the other. The wheel works easily-- very user friendly. You can scan & reduce or enlarge copies quickly & simply. This printer is highly rated on the internet and they are RIGHT!!!

    Duration of ownership:1 Months

Strengths: Price, memory card readers, easy to use, fast, duplex printing, great copy feature

Weaknesses: Large, No built in FAX, issues with using non-Canon ink

Overall Evaluation: Although we have had printer for a month, we have not used it to its fullest. We have used for copying, scanning, but only basic printing. So far we love it.First, this thing is BIG. Make sure you have enough room for where you want to put it. We were ok with where we wanted it, but only have 1/2" to spare. The controls are easy to follow, and it can be used as a copier or photo printer without being hooked up to the computer. We love the copy feature. We used to have to scan on the scanner and then print. This is one button copying.Printing speed are FAST. However, the one area that we have not used often is the printer as a printer. I hope to use for some photos in the near future though.I like the memory card reader. It passes through the PC and shows up as just another drive. I ran into one problem, but opened the manual and found the issue very quickly. The printer is factory set to "read only" for memory cards. I was trying to copy some music and movies to an SD card, and it said card was write protected. A simple switch in the menu on the printer, and it worked great. It does not have a built in FAX, but that was not a feature really needed.Another point to be aware of is that the Canon ink cartridges (takes 6 I think) are the new ones that have microchips in them. The problem is that you can't buy generic refills without removing the chips and a little tinkering. I have seen sites on the internet with instructions for this. Many printer manufacturers are going to this sort of thing. My old Canon I buy 2 dollar ink cartridges for it rather than the 15 dollar ones in the store. Then again, that printer is just for b/w printing mostly, so not such a big deal.

    Duration of ownership:14 Days

Strengths: Beautiful photo printing and fast! I love the duplex option and the two paper tray options. It closes up so dust won't get inside the printer. It has an ultra quiet setting.

Weaknesses: It is big, but looks great closed up.

Overall Evaluation: I've only had mine for two weeks, but I really like it. It does an awesome job scanning and printing. It does fast, high quality prints. It is very easy to understand and work. I keep telling anyone and everyone that is looking for an all in one photo printer to buy this one!

    Duration of ownership:30 Days

Strengths: Excellent print & scan quality, elegant and slick design

Weaknesses: Lag during scanning, no direct print from USB, no fax

Overall Evaluation: My first impression is that it has an awesome and slick look. I kept on going back to Staples hoping that the price will drop below $199. After 6 months, it finally dropped to $150ish and I jump on it. Took it home and was really impressed with the print quality. Well... One additional drawback for me is that it cannot take generic ink like my IP3000. Canon has gotten smarter and place a chip on each ink cartridge. Hopefully.. someday they will start to come out with generic ink with chip. Overall.. it is an awesome printer. Check out my pro and cons.

    Duration of ownership:25 Days

Strengths: Print quality is very nice for a home office machineI love having the ability to print auto-duplex...works great!

Weaknesses: It is a bit bulky

Overall Evaluation: The quality of the printing is excellent...for both paper and photo printing. My only suggestion to others considering a printer when they have serious space limitations in their office would be to allow for the space required for the paper holder. This is not included in the dimensions provided. This PIXMA MP 600 is a nice printer, and I would buy it again.
