Strengths: Sounds good
Weaknesses: Everything on it feels cheap, just another copy off an apple product.
Overall Evaluation: All I can say is Cheap. This thing is a piece of crap, talk about being made cheap. It sounds OK but just another copy of a Apple product, kinda like Vista that don't work right. Hmmmm, kinda looks like they bought a old Samsung MP3 player design. Good job Microsoft, keep up the good work, because before you no it apple is gonna get ya. ipod killer it will never be. Nice name.

Strengths: Navigation only.
Weaknesses: Batery....only lasted 6 hours of mp3 listening. Too heavy & bulky. Will not display 16:9 screen, only standard.
Overall Evaluation: I will now try Ipod, at least they are advertized at 24 hours use. Zune does'nt have many accessories yet, maybe in the next generations to come the batery issue may be better.

Strengths: Video capabilities, hard drive capacity, large screen and it has a great deal of potential
Weaknesses: downloading files via wireless, deleting files, life of battery, toggle button, OSand software compatabilities
Overall Evaluation: This was a gift to my husband for Christmas and these were his comments; He is very pleased with the video capabilities, the large hard drive and the large and clear screen. Not please with the fact that he can not use the wireless to download files, can not delete files from the ZUNE, the toggle button feels loose (weak), can not use with Windows 2000 and Media Player. Also the life span of the battery is a minus. My husband gives the ZUNE a 4 star rating and says that the product has a great deal of potential.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Microsoft name, Media supported, screen size
Weaknesses: Price, downloads from Microsoft marketplace, windows media
Overall Evaluation: I bought this for my techie son who is at college. He requested it for Christmas and was not disappointed. It plays well and is solid in construction. The requisite add-ons are pricey, but so are the ipod additions. He really likes the screen size and the ability to store and play movies.

Strengths: Big screen great video, pics and music. I also like the FM tuner.
Weaknesses: Heavy. Software is a bit confusing at first. The color choices are far and few, no AC adapter included.
Overall Evaluation: I wanted something different from the crowd, so I decided to give the Microsoft Zune a try. I love this thing. I wish MS had chosen better colors. I like having a radio tuner built in. The 30GB is a decent start, hope to see larger capacities in the future. I like that the album art displays with the music. The display is sharp and the battery last a long time. I haven't tried sharing music yet, so I can't comment on the Zune to Zune wireless sharing. I would buy the Zune again and recommend it to anyone who wants to be apart from the Apple crowd.

Strengths: 1. Menu navigation.2. Ease of loading music and video.3. Advanced FM radio feature.3. Good construction.
Weaknesses: 1. Battery time may be relatively short.2. Color of the units could have been more imaginative.
Overall Evaluation: I have read some of the other comments and I agree with some and disagree with others. Even what I put down as negatives are not the worst of things, just some areas where they could have improved. I have never used an iPod so I don't have any way to compare the units. I have found the Zune to be a really nice buy for the money. It's about $150.00 less then the top of the line iPod and it has some features it does not have. I like the built in FM Radio feature. It will show you the call letters of the station you are listening to as well as the name of the song and the album. That's pretty neat. The wireless feature is nice to use that way you and a friend can share music wirelessly. Although some people found this unit to be rather heavy, I did not. In fact I do not want something that feels as if it is going to break in you hands. I have put both music and video on the unit with no problems. The menu navigation is very simple and from what I've heard will remind people of an iPod. I did notice that after using the unit for only 20 or 30 minutes it was already showing the battery down a bit from full power. However, since I have never owned one of these high end media players it may very well fall into what is considered normal for these types of units. Overall I would highly recommend the unit as an all in one media player.

Strengths: Large 3.0? LCD with FM tuner and Bluetooth capability. It has good sound quality and is easy to navigate through the device.
Weaknesses: A bit larger and heavier than Ipod. Color selection is limited.
Overall Evaluation: Bought my Zune through Amex Wishlist. This was an impulse purchase originally but I end up enjoying this little gadget, especially the larger 3.0? LCD with vivid display. I think Microsoft is on the right track with this device as far as competing sales with Apple in the market for mp3/multimedia portable players.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Graphics, easy interface, great FM withy details of what song is playing, vivid colors, size of screen, touch & feel. Large album art details!!
Weaknesses: Lack of sync to Outlook, not large enough hard drive options, nned Wifi access to Internet, should include ac with package to better compete with Ipod.
Overall Evaluation: I recently purchased a 60G Creative Zen Vision M. I have been playing with and contemplating a Zune. I really had my doubts, especially after looking at the Toshiba Gigabeat and knowing that Toshiba was making the Zune. However, I am really blown away by the Zune, but I'm going to wait for the next generation. Microsoft really got it right, but it will take a while for people to grow to it. The mouse brown with acid green trim is so right on, especially the snowboarder crowd and the kids that shop at Pac-Sun and Zumiez. The thing feels really good, the screen is great, the interface is easier to negotiate than an Ipod click-wheel, and the album art is gigantic. The marketing material and the Zune marketplace, combined with the new WMP11 is simply stunning, exciting to use, and makes Itunes look old and anemic.I'm really pleased with my Zen and love the screen colors, but I'm very envious of the Zune. Somewhere down the pick I'll have to have one, just because it is so cool.By the way, this reviewer is a 60 yr old kid!! Go out and treat yourself to the best thing going and be an individual!!

Strengths: Wifi to other Zunes to share music and playlists.Bigger screen then the IPOD videoMenu system easy to use
Weaknesses: Bigger than the IPOD but it has a bigger screen!Heavier than the IPOD.Not many Zunesters out there to share music
Overall Evaluation: While bigger and heavier than the 80GB IPOD video, I am impressed with it's ease of use. Sound quality it great. I only wish that had put more space on this thing like 120GB or something. Go out and buy one so we can share music.

Strengths: sound quality, 3" bright screen
Weaknesses: not support chinese
Overall Evaluation: I bought my Zune on 10/23/06 at buy.com. The package is very nice, easy to setup software, use USB cabel to fully charge 3 hrs, but i suguess 24 hrs. When everything is done, i try to sync musics to Zune, it is little bit complicated, because it is not like other MP3 player i just copy music to device. You have to creat a playlist then sync to Zune. The sound quality is much better than Ipod and other MP3 players. The 3" bright screen makes vedio very smooth, clear. I have 14 days trail (all you can eat) to download musics, vedios and pictures from marketplace. I don't use wireless function yet because not more people own Zune. I love my Zune.
