    Duration of ownership:1 Months

Strengths: I use these radios for dog training in the fields. They seem to work just fine.

Weaknesses: Do not know of weaknesses at this point

Overall Evaluation: I have only used the radios for a short period of time in my training group. They are working well so far. Others in the group have similar radios they have been using for over a year and they enjoy their reliability.

    Duration of ownership:2 Months

Strengths: Crisp clear voice, long battery life.

Weaknesses: No charger provided, the back of this walky-talky is apt to be scrached by its belt clip.

Overall Evaluation: I bought a pair of this walky-talkies from office max when it was on clearance. They are go good and I like it. The manual is easy to understand and the equipments are easy to use. The voice is so good and my wife and I always use it when shopping. The battery life is good, we don't need to charge it often. But the drawback is, no charger or charging base provided for this model, even there are two metal plates on the back for the charging base. So if you want to charge it you have to get the batteries out, not easy because the NiH batteries generally are larger than alkeline ones. Also the back can be easily scratched by the belt slips, I thinks that's a problem of design.

Strengths: Easy to use, good form factor, lightweight.

    Weaknesses: Odd number of batteries.

Overall Evaluation: My first one - so no real comparison with other similar products - but it was easy to use and didn't have a problem with the reception for my usage. One of the other reviews complained about the belt clip, but seems fine to me. The shape is designed to fit well in the hand. The unit uses 3 AA batteries. Generally I don't like things with odd number of batteries since most battery chargers handle either 2 or 4 batteries at a time. However, you can argue that since there are 2 of these units, you do have an even number of batteries.

Strengths: Performs well even in a city environment, feature-packed, lightweight

    Weaknesses: None noted.

Overall Evaluation: The Motorola T-5500AA talkabout 2-way radios perform very well at an affordable price. These feature-packed radios are lightweight and small enough to fit inside your pocket. In the city, they perform well and in more open areas they perform even better. If you are looking for an inexpensive FRS radio these are definitely worth pruchasing.

    Overall Rating: 4 Star Review

    Duration of ownership:6 Weeks

Strengths: Form factor, Channel Options, Range, Price, Battery Life

    Weaknesses: Belt Clip

Overall Evaluation: This device is great for camping and amusment parks. Use of sub-channels allows for greater privicy from other near-by users. Each channel has 38 sub-channels to refine your selection. The device is easy to use and feels good in the hand. The device can be used with rechargable batteries. Motorola sells their own battery set and charger, but you can use your own just as easy. The device has a good range and uses a combination of 1/2 watt and 1 watt channels. Your battery drain will depend on which you choose. The included plastic belt clips are not very durable.
