Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Takes really good pictures, great LCD screen, good compact size.
Weaknesses: Horrible Lens.
Overall Evaluation: I bought this camera and as soon as I took one picture it gave me a lens error. I tried to restart the camera just like the manual told me to but it would not turn back on. I tried for about 3-4 hours and finally gave up. I checked online at some other reviews and found that this is a common problem with this camera. The problem usually occurred within the first 6 months and Canon will not warranty it. I should have done some more research on the camera before I bought it. I own a Canon Digital Rebel XT and it is great and I have not had any problems so I assumed that this camera's quality would be just as good. I do not recommend this camera.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Nice sized lcd screen, nice clear picture, sleek camera design and all the camera functions are easy to use.
Weaknesses: none that I can find
Overall Evaluation: I love this camera. I have searched around at a few models, and decided to buy this one. The pictures come out really clear and all the function are easy to use. Nice small camera that can fit in your pocket or purse without having a camera case (although it would be nice if this camera came with a case to store the camera in).

Strengths: 3-Inch Smudge Free Screen; Face Detection; Great Low Light Shots; Awesome Moving Pics; Accepts Class-6 SDHC
Weaknesses: Gimmicky 'Touch Icon' function.
Overall Evaluation: This is my 5th Canon P/S camera and it feels as though things just keep improving over the previous ones. - The screen is big and resist finger prints. Can be viewed under bright daylight with ease. - The low light shots in 'Hi' ISO are extremely good and relatively 'noise' free unless the image is viewed in extreme close-up. - Face detection is so effective that when aimed at the TV screen it detects and tracks movement of the characters. - Works with the newest and fastest Class-6 (150x) SD cards. - The Touch Icon function requires some time to get used to but seems like a convenient feature for navigating the menu. -

Strengths: Huge 3" Screen. Easy to shoot. Nice looking.
Weaknesses: No image stabilization to reduce handshake.
Overall Evaluation: Very light weight, so it is very portable. It is easy to shoot and see what you just take. Even though there is no image stabilizer, the quality of the photo is still perfect.

Strengths: Great 3" screen
Weaknesses: shutter lag
Overall Evaluation: Camera takes great pics. You can clearly see everything in the 3" screen so it's no big deal that it doesn't have optical stabilization. The menus are pretty straight forward and the case seems to be sturdy. It's plastic but it doesn't feel cheap. I mention the shutter lag because it takes about a second from the time that you press the button to when it takes the picture.

Strengths: 3" Crystal Clear Screen, Great Pictures, Easy To Operate
Weaknesses: Lacks A Battery Meter, just tells you when the battery is very low, doesn't give you the exact battery strength as your shooting pictures
Overall Evaluation: I was looking for a new digital camera with a 3" LCD screen, I am very happy with my purchase. I had owned an older SD200 Canon before and was very happy with it.The quality of the camera is top notch. The buttons are easy to understand, and there are so many great features.I would recommend this camera to beginners, or experienced users. Especially people , who have trouble viewing a smaller LCD Screen. One thing I really like is the wide screen mode, you can take a picture , and view it in widescreen on your widescreen monitor. It gives you a different perspective and clarity I have never seen before in a digital image.Great job Canon!
