Overall Rating: 4 Star Review
Duration of ownership:3 Weeks
Strengths: Traditional 4:3 screen packaged in a very lightweight LCD package. Component inputs, digital coax sound output.
Weaknesses: Weak volume speakers, for small room use only. EDTV quality, 480p maximum resolution. Low 500:1 contrast ratio.
Overall Evaluation: Traditional 4:3 aspect screens are naturally being phased out. With big heavy CRT units disappearing, it's even harder to find a 4:3 screen in a modern LCD package that's thin, lightweight and of decent quality. This Sharp model is nothing special but it's great to have if you only need a basic TV somewhere and you don't need HDTV widescreen formats. Works out for me since the guest bedroom only has a single coax connection. Decided against a low-cost widescreen unit because there would always be the black sidebars when watching standard TV channels, unless you stretch it out which changes the aspect. Might as well get a traditional 4:3 unit where you utilize the entire screen area and not change the aspect ratios.A component input lets you connect a progressive-scan DVD player or other sources. An S-video, RCA composite and RF coax connection round out the available inputs. All in all, a good TV to have when all you need is the very basic setup in a small area. However, wait for sale prices.

Overall Rating: 3 Star Review
Duration of ownership:20 Days
Strengths: Great picture, supports new digital signal off the air (no cable needed)
Weaknesses: Poor sound quality, no bass, no adjustment
Overall Evaluation: I received this TV as a gift and looked forward to my first LCD TV. Since I do not have cable, I was pleased to see that I could receive digital broadcasts off the air without any special changes. The picture is great with the factory picture settings (many adjustments are available). The sound quality is so poor that my wife does not like using this TV. It seems like it is missing the bass tones altogether, thus it is tiny sounding. Plus, I was unable to find any audio adjustments! It would have been 5 stars if the sound quality was much better.
