Strengths: It's average.
Weaknesses: Some CS rep diagnosed over the phone that a pin-prick hole in the LCD (from a pencil) caused my backlight to start flickering! YOUR WARRANTY IS GARBAGE WITH SAMSUNG! They are dishonest!
Overall Evaluation: For the love of God don't waste your money on this company. Buy from Sony who cares about repeat customers.

Strengths: Bright image, great detail, lots of controls, attractive, height adjustment.
Weaknesses: Cannot be calibrated, over-saturated reds even after calibration, deep shadows block up, vertical viewing angle is zero.
Overall Evaluation: I have been working hard to find a reasonably priced large monitor for photographic work. This is my 3rd Samsung. I need accurate color and none of the three could be calibrated by any method (including fudging all the controls and using the best sensor based calibration systems). Reds always oversaturate. The worst problem is that there is NO vertical position where you can see the whole image accurately. 1/4" of vertical motion and the top gets darker and the bottom lighter or visa versa. If you are a graphic artists, stay away. For general purpose use it is a good deal.

Strengths: great picture
Weaknesses: Can't be used as a second monitor with laptop even with AMD-ATI graphics card (256 MB) XP. Setup using DVI & analog cables w supplied drivers permanently blacks out notebook monitor by changing XP OS disabling brightness & other controls. This is a reported issue without a fix. Model doesn't swivel as advertised.
Overall Evaluation: As a notebook user I feel Samsung failed to notify consumers of irreversible changes in XP OS by using this monitor & drivers on notebooks as a primary or second monitor. Samsung doesn't offer online support for resolving problems with monitors. Returning the monitor doesn't solve being left with a blank screen on a high end graphics gamer notebook. Samsung's lack of probelms solving suppoprt with new products is very disappointing.

Strengths: Nice looking screen, good enough refresh rate for FPSs
Weaknesses: It broke after less than a year
Overall Evaluation: It's great monitor when it works. Nice fast refresh rate, I never had probems with it playing fast paced FPS games. Videos were crisp and contrast was fine. However after a week I noticed when the monitor would wake up from sleep mode some of the pixels that should have been black were replaced with bright blue pixels. More and more blue pixels would replace the black ones till the monitor would blink on and off till it fixed itself and the screen turned back to normal. This didn't happen often but it was annoying. Also I could "fix" the blue pixels by turning the monitor off then on, monitor worked fine if it started from on off state (not sleep mode). This problem was just an annoyance but it would fix itself, not a big deal, then one day in the middle of playing a game it flashed a white screen and didn't turn on again. I tried it with different computers and different video cables (DVI and analog) I sent it off to Samsung and they repaired it within a week (no complaints there). Right now i'm using it it works fine, but the annoying blue pixels are still there when the monitor wakes from sleep mode.

Strengths: HUGE, bright, beautiful LCD. No ghosting even during a very extended gaming session. 1920 x 1200 resolution really shows off this masterpiece's strength.
Weaknesses: Strenghts Continued:I can see no major issues with viewing angle; but I'm not using it for anything other than general and gaming. NO DEAD PIXELS ! WOOT ! Samsung rocks.
Overall Evaluation: Had to turn the brightness down to 40% because it was giving me a full frontal sunburn. I think my contacts were melted to my eyes before I realized what happened. ONSALE.com was awesome with delivery and price. $50 rebate from Samsung sealed the deal; now to see if I can actually get the rebate back from Samsung.

Strengths: Clean, adjustable, includes DVI and VGA cables and cleaning cloth, 24 inch, wall mountable
Weaknesses: Viewing angles are awful, but it doesn't matter because I sit in front of my monitor
Overall Evaluation: Overall, a great purchase if your on a budget. I only hope it continues to impress...Samsung is a name you can trust, and evidently this is no exception. I hooked it up to my iMac (which the screen has gotten worse over time) and it makes it look like garbage. I use my 20-inch iMac for windows I won't be looking at and I use this screen for games, movies, and websites.5MS response time is great, but I would have liked the 2MS response time that was included with the 22-inch version. But this is a higher resolution.

Strengths: Superb contrast and brightness, precise color, clean look, excellent response rate, easy to adjust (tilt and height)
Weaknesses: No easy way to turn monitor vertical or mount on a wall. (I do not use this feature)
Overall Evaluation: The primary use for my monitor is home. It has been a great asset for working at home on spreadsheets. The characters are sharp and contrast/brightness settings make it quick to change between preprogrammed and customs settings. Over the 3 months have been using the monitor I have been very pleased. I also do some gaming playing World of Warcraft BC. It is always a disappointment when I have to play on any other monitor. You wont find a better monitor that provides this much value.

Weaknesses: not great on vertical viewing angleno USB or audio ports
Overall Evaluation: Nice "basic" 24" monitor. Picture is excellent with very good response time and wide horizontal viewing angle. Vertical viewing angle not as great -- colors get washed out more than 60 or 90 degrees out.

Strengths: Large screen, high resolution, fast refresh rate, the specs on the stand alone, tilt, swivel base, invert and height adjustment, comes with DVi cable, this monitor sells itself
Weaknesses: None to my knowledge.
Overall Evaluation: I received this monitor with no dead pixels, what a plus. Quality product. This is the largest and most featured monitor I have ever bought. I found the best price at Sam's Club. An absolute 10! Enjoy!

Strengths: Sharp image quality, easily adjustable contrast/color/etc. User friendly on-CD manual, digital or analog compatible. Passed 90% of black & white contrast tests. This baby is HUGE!
Weaknesses: Puts out more heat than expected; nothing major though.
Overall Evaluation: This is my first experience with a 24" widescreen LCD, the monitor this baby replaced was a 19" CRT so I've had to adjust to the, at first, overwhelming size of this monitor. It feels as though I could crawl right into this thing. Screen text has never been clearer even on my laptop lcd the text isn't as sharp and crisp as it is on this monitor. Widescreen movies show very minimal black-bars at top and bottom; truly your own personal movie theatre. 3D games have never looked better. The controls for contrast, color, etc are fairly easy to use and there are more options than expected which allows for a truly personal customization of the monitor. View from side can appear slightly lighter or faded and from top looks darker, but that's expected from an LCD. In fact, the range of view from either side is very impressive. I have light sensitive eyes and won't even dare going out in the sun without sunglasses so I had to tone down the brightness quite a bit for my own sake, however, even with my optimized settings this monitor passed 90% of the black & white contrast tests I threw at it. Although I've only had this monitor a few days I can say I'm satisfied with my choice. Plus, with the extra added bonus of Samsung's Mail-In-Rebate and Pricegrabbers Bonus Rebate the price was well within my range at under $400.00. I've included a photo, but unfortunately my camera doesn't do it justice. I included the sunglasses to give everyone a general idea how big this monster is.
