Overall Rating: 5 Star Review
Duration of ownership:4 Months
Strengths: Easiest to program, latest devices included on their website (even an off-brand display)
Weaknesses: The only thing I've found is the direction button (L, R, up, down) is difficult to use
Overall Evaluation: I've gone through a lot of "universal" remotes, & this is the best BY FAR. I bought one of these 4 months ago & liked it so mush I bought 2 more

Strengths: Easy to customize and create activity. The remote knows what need to be on when I want to watch TV, for example
Weaknesses: keys are small.
Overall Evaluation: You don't want to pay more than $100 for a remote control and you don't care about big LCD screen in the remote, it is the right one for you

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: - Controls Everything- Great setup guide- Stylish and lightweight
Weaknesses: - Only works if you have internet- Setup is lengthy
Overall Evaluation: The 676 is a very stylish, smart, and easy to use device. It fits perfectly in your hand and the online setup is pretty intuitive. The only problem is that you MUST have high speed internet. Modem will just be too slow to update. It even has tv guide information right on your remote!

Strengths: USB connection to online updates is the best feature.Display is easy to see and the prompts easy to follow.Ease of set up.Much more comfortable design in your hand than the larger all-in-one's
Weaknesses: Needs more one touch buttons for VCR, CD etc...You still have to push 2-3 buttons to get those devices to come on.
Overall Evaluation: So far I am really pleased with the unit, I really have replaced all my other remotes and have not lost one function of any of my devices. I highly recommend this controller.

Strengths: size, shape, intuitive layout, price, features, screen, function
Weaknesses: a little hard to set up but worth the effort
Overall Evaluation: decided to choose this remote after researching sony and other harmony series (ie 680 buttons are not as good as this one) and decided 676 was best bang for buck. Read the manual carefully and see the information shown on the logitech website for additional tips.

Strengths: friendly interface, controls all my devices, ergonomically shaped
Weaknesses: not a color lcd display. direction buttons (up, down left, right) could be easier to press.
Overall Evaluation: After a lot of debating on which harmony remote to get, I decided on the 676 for the soft buttons and layout. The remote is very easy to program and get used to. If you have an internet connection, just skip the installation disk. Your computer will detect the remote and will launch the harmony website to install and setup your remote. If you install the CD first, it will ask you to uninstall it anyway. It took a few tries to get all the settings the way that I like, but I got there. The help button on the remote is incredibly helpful once you identify the devices you want it to control. The only thing I'm not too fond of is the direction buttons which are located on a circle around the OK button. The circle is thin and doesn't have a nice feel when pushed. I believe the new 880 has actual directions as buttons, but for the price difference I'm willing to bare with it. This was my first universal remote overall and I couldn't be happier. I only gave it four stars just to leave room for improvement.

Strengths: Very powerful yet easy to set up. The largest database of devices I have ever seen. I have a Panasonic big screen, DishPlayer PVR, and TEAC DVD/Receiver and they all work great from this remote.
Weaknesses: A little pricy but considering the fact that you can put all of your other remotes away, well woth it
Overall Evaluation: I tried the H679 first (bought at a local store) and discovered that the 676 had extra buttons - specifically the PVR skip forward and skip back. So I took it back and bought the H676 on line and saved about $35 too. It's a great remote that finally delivers on the "universal" promise - and is easy to set up, use and customize as needed.

Strengths: smart state, usb setup, strong signal, plenty of hard buttons
Weaknesses: color, internet based setup program.
Overall Evaluation: The Harmony H6xx remotes are the best in their price range. The functions among different models are pretty much the same. The difference is the buttons. I like the normal soft rubber buttons on 676 better than the hard "gem" buttons on 680. And I read the 688's buttons are not user friendly if you want to operate the remote without looking at it. The smart state is really smart. It works very well. The "internet powered" setup is over rated. You have to go over quite some pages to get anything done. Using the remote code created by other users may not be a good thing. Many devices have junk buttons. But don't get me wrong, once the remote is setup correctly, it works wonders! I don't know what they were thinking when they picked the color of the face plates. They all look ugly! I'd like a black one to match the body of the remote. Or better, make it silver all over! A couple of problems I ran into with my 676 may interest some people: 1. Don't try to upgrade the firmware with the USB port on IBM Thinkpad T21. They are incompatible. Imagine the frustration when the firmware upgrade software hangs on my new remote! It's not documented on Logitech's web site. But it's a known problem on some forums. 2. If you have to learn IR code for an uncommon device and the normal learning mode doesn't work, use the raw mode with *short* button press.

Strengths: Greatest ease of use with "programming", simple button layout.
Weaknesses: Does not cater for RF remotes (generally rare). No color screen (will be present in upcoming model. Known to eat through batteries (get rechargeables!)
Overall Evaluation: This device provides for near fool-proof organization of multiple remotes by the use of clever - internet based programming. In essence after logging on to the Logitech website you describe which models of equipment you own and it will automatically design its own macros - therefore by pressing the music button - it will automatically turn on amplifier and CD player, select the correct input etc. Its ease of use is legendary. The 676 comes with 2 extra coloured plated (red and blue) which may come in handy if it matches your home theater. Overall due to simplicity of programming - this device is highly recommended.

Strengths: Internet setup, controls everything in my home theater. A true universal remote. Can't beat it for the money.
Weaknesses: Internet setup, scrolling through the button on the screen.
Overall Evaluation: I know I put the strength and the weakness as Internet setup, but that's how I feel. The setup is easy and takes a little bit of time until you get adjusted to the site. The only problem is you have to constantly visit the site for every little change. I don't know about you but this can be a pain while trying to complete a simple setup change. For example, to teach the remote a function from the original remote for your equipment you have to go online. I like the initial setup online but sometimes it can be overdone. The remote feels comfortable in my hand and buttons are easy to reach. Works well in the dark. The remote is easy enough to use for the most novice users.
