  Strengths: Thankfully it worked on Windows at the least

  Weaknesses: Waste of time and money on purchasing it

  Overall Evaluation: Everything is beautiful on product advert labels but not on the machine. Wasn’t useful on Mac. On Windows it worked but motion pics were blurry and I had to return the device.

  Strengths: microphone worked-software easy to install-camera sits on the desktop

  Weaknesses: Cons: 1-Camera & software did not work with Skype 2-USB connection not functional on two different computers USB ports 3-most incompetent tech support of any tech company in business today.

  Overall Evaluation: I researched webcams on PCWorld and other sites. Although I read of issues with Skype,I had no idea it was this bad. I didn't see any reference to problems with USB connections or incompetent tech support. The product I purchased was either defective or to cut costs recently, Logitech eliminated quality control. After software installation, I tested the camera and all seemed to be working. The demo videos are worthless unless you live in Happyville. I used Skype to connect to a friend with a webcam built into his computer. I could see him fine-great image, good color. The 9000 showed him a frozen picture of me that every so once in a while would skip to another frozen image. I went into settings to reconfigure the defaults. Tried again, same problem. Called LogiTech customer support. I tried the tests they recommended BEFORE they hung up on me after I tried reconnecting the camera to a different USB port and the mic stopped working. I installed the software on a different computer and had the same problem with Skype. The next day I worked on it again, althouh now there was no light ring on the camera and software did not recognize the USB connection. I tested the connection with every USB port on two computers, nada. Again I called LogiTech support. I was told I'd receive additional test procedures in an email and was given a Ref #. No email arrived in a week. Called LogiTech support again. There was no record of reference number,my previous calls and they had the wrong name assigned to my email address. Here's a suggestion: Logitech should institute a pee in the cup policy for tech support staff. I'm going to buy the Microsoft webcam, return the piece of _______ Logitech 9000 to the vendor, and NEVER buy anything with a LogiTech logo until I read they fired the whole customer support staff. That an apology would be nice, but that would mean they could FIND my email address.

  Strengths: Didn't get that far.

  Weaknesses: I just kept getting error message while installing the drivers. Could have been an isolated problem with my computer only, but, I had to give up sometime.

  Overall Evaluation: Look, I'm not the smartest guy in the world but not the dunbest either. While loading the software, I can't tell you the barage of error meeages I was getting. (Running Windows XP)I did everything that was requested. Disabled my firewall, anti-virus, spy-ware. Loaded and removed the software about 10 times. One time it actually went problem free until I rebooted. Error. Was going to call Logitech until I saw it wasn't a toll free number. Sent it back. Just wasn't worth it.

  Strengths: Works great in Ubuntu 10.04 (and later, I presume) and OS X 10.6

  Overall Evaluation: Overall picture quality is pretty good but not outstanding. Id love a webcam with high dynamic range.

  Strengths: Video quality is impressive, focusing speed & low-light performance as well. Many adjustments, even an option to turn off the red light ring during recording. Zeiss lens.

  Weaknesses: Long installation, some compatibility issues with Vista. Not entirely Logitech's fault, though - who hasn't had issued with Vista?

  Overall Evaluation: Definitely head-n-shoulders above average. Software took a while to install, but it's worth it. Plenty of configuration options, from focus to zoom to color adjustments. Video quality is VERY impressive, especially for recording (vlog/video greeting cards). Works with Skype w/o any problems whatsoever. Love the stand - folds in several ways so you can sit it on the table or stick on top of a monitor.Overall, very nice product, well-built, works fine. A+, Logitech! I went through a few cheaper webcams - wish I found this one right from the start!

  Strengths: the picture clarity is very good. It adjust the features at the earliest. one word it is a good webcam in the market.

  Weaknesses: the balance is not good. It falls continuously

  Overall Evaluation: The webcam is nice to have with laptop. It is not very good with deskstop. the performance is diminished when i started using on deskstop. It is needs at least 1 GB Ram memory, it does not work with less than that.Nagaraj

  Strengths: Nice picture when it works, which isn't very often.

  Weaknesses: Continually have to reload software every time you restart your machine to get it to work.

  Overall Evaluation: After following the exact procedures to install the webcam and upload the software, I had high hopes it would work. It does work affter you upload and reuplload and reupload the software every time you need to uuse it to make an internet call with video. I bought it to communicate with my daughter and granddaughter but have to spend to much time reuploading software to make it worth while as it is. The technical support says to go out and buy a new computer to try it on it to see if the problem still exists and if it does then to try downgrading from version 11.9 software to version 11.8. I will try to resolve the issue myself or at least find a satisfactory workaround because the picture is good.

  Strengths: Picture quality pretty good for close in work. Applications all working fine on my machine (XP Pro).

  Weaknesses: Colors a little off.

  Overall Evaluation: Bought to use with Skype for myself and several staff members. Works fine right out of the box in our environment. While webcams have advanced tremendously since I last used one 5 years ago, the video quality is still a little below my expectations. I suspect this is just the way it is with bandwidth and is not a camera issue. A little pricey for what it it.

  Strengths: Good in low light, good in bright light.

  Weaknesses: None yet.

  Overall Evaluation: I have not owned any web cameras as of yet, I've been waiting for the "right one". This camera was a cinch to install on Vista Business, works great in both Live Messenger and Skype. Picture quality is tops and is noticable by the users on the other end of the call.

  Strengths: Nice camera, even without software loaded (because I could not load it) it worked very well with skype, is clear and has goot depth in the room

  Weaknesses: software has major problems with vista. I tried to load on two different Vista pc configurations. both failed with the same error code(not in trouble shooter list) very poor rude support from logitec

  Overall Evaluation: So to make it work: You have to disable a whole load of start up functions, disable your firewall etc. You do not have to do this with Canon or other similar software which loads fine. Error code not in trouble shooter, support say its an issue with Vista. Sorry no. If you want to sell a product make sure it works with current software in all likely cases. Sofware is clearly too intrusive and wants to collect info ( I guess). So no I would not buy again after several hours of work + having to rewind my vista software load by a few days on each pc.
