    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Overall design, vibrant colors, great contrast, and no glare.

    Weaknesses: The price

Overall Evaluation: Just receive the TV a few days ago. The picture quality is great but unfortunately my digital service provider?s quality isn?t. The standard DVDs are quite good. We chose it over a plasma because we have a bright room and thought the screen on a plasma would show the glare much more. So far, we are really happy with it but are thinking of changing service providers to one with more high definition channels offered.

    Strengths: picture and clarity

    Weaknesses: sound

Overall Evaluation: The TVs picture is fantastic. My only negative is the sound of the speakers. I would highly suggest getting a receiver, hooking it up tothe TV, turning the TV sound off, and playing the sound through the receiver/speakers. If you do that, i beleive you have a great system that will rival most of the "jones's"

    Strengths: Size, design, picture clarity

Weaknesses: Number of HDMI inputs on back (3 total, but 1 is a side port). Price

Overall Evaluation: To me, this is the best picture quality out there right now. Price is a bit high, but can be had for ~$3500 if you find a good special. My only dissapointment so far has been the number of HDMI inputs, as it only has 2 on the back. It has a side port, but given the proliferation of HDMI devices (PS3, Xbox, DVD player, etc etc), it would've been nice to have a few more inputs.

    Strengths: Amazing picture; great quality.

    Weaknesses: Price.

Overall Evaluation: We purchased this tv from BB and absolutely love the picture. We own three sony's. 3 are bravias and this is our fourth. The blu ray discs look absolutely stunning on this one. It is in a room with a lot of light, above the fireplace and looks great. we would recommend this tv.

    Duration of ownership:

    Strengths: Beautiful Picture, Awesome Contrast!!

    Weaknesses: Default Settings.

Overall Evaluation: I have been waiting to get a Sony LCD TV for over a year now, but I must say the wait was well worth it. I have looked a plenty of LCD and Plasma TVs and this is by far the best set on the market. The default settings are horrible, but after minor adjustments the picture looks great. I am still waiting to get it professional calibrated. Even standard definition programs look good on this set, but you will be blown away when watching a HD broadcast. Everyone comments on how great the set looks in our living room.

Strengths: The HD picture on this tv is crystal clear, bright whites and great contrast. It has Picture in picture !!

    Weaknesses: Price

Overall Evaluation: The XBR4 is the top of the Sony LCD TV line. The colors are vibrant and seem almost 3D. The programs broadcast in SD are upgraded automatically to near HD quality. The remote and adjustment menu are both easy to use. I am extremely happy with this TV. The picture is the best I have seen on any brand, it is a major improvement over even last year's model. Last years model did not have PIP, this years does and the bezel on last years model was gray, this year's black bezel surrounded by the floating glass around makes the set look awesome even when it is not on. We put the 52 inch set in the living room and liked it so much we just purchased the 40 inch version for the bedroom. I have owned several Sony TVs and loved everyone of them. Sony has a reputation for reliability and with an investment in excess of $4,000 I didn't want to buy a lesser brand and have to pay for repairs later. It was the most expensive 52 inch set available but it was worth every penny !!
