Strengths: The best anti-virus program I have ever used. Thorough - doesn't miss a thing.
Weaknesses: Slows down computer at start-up. Make certain your other programs do not conflict with Kaspersky before purchasing. For example: Webroot Spy Sweeper.
Overall Evaluation: Highly recommend! Great product - rapid communication from technicians if there is a question about the product. I have used Norton and other products over the years which greatly slow down the system. Before purchasing "Google" the reviews on-line to see if it is the anti-virus for you. It was for me. This is the second year I have used it and Kaspersky has only gotten better.

Strengths: does not slow down system, very protective
Weaknesses: it targets nearly all necessary drivers and gives you a lot of warnings, which is a little bit annoying
Overall Evaluation: I have two computers with the same system. One is installed with Norton 360 and the other goes this product. Norton 360 is doing well and it covers almost all types of assults but it is too bloated and slows down the system significantly. Kaspersky is nicer this way, and i don't get annoyed at this at all. But i do get crazy by its too "sensitive" warnings: It targets almost all the necessary drivers and ask you to allow or terminate any program it detects considered suspicious programs. I get interrupted from time to time. Guess i need more study on this software to see if my installation is flawless.

Duration of ownership:3 Weeks
Strengths: Relatively small memory footprint, ability to set your update time, and a useable users guide instead of a pdf file on the disk.
Weaknesses: Proactive defense give warning where if normal user follow will corrupt the system.
Overall Evaluation: The program install easily and you can set you update cycle to not interfere with your use of the PC. The memory footprint is relatively small compare to othe Anti-virus programs. When proactive defense is turned on, it prompt the user on any installation or writes to registry. If the user don't understand Windows internal, they can corrupt the system without knowing it or improperly install other programs. Not a recommeded feature for novice user which unfortunely is what the feature is targeted for.

Strengths: updating doesn't seem to make other application slower; free after rebate (no need to do upgrade rebate)
Weaknesses: none
Overall Evaluation: I have been using Kaspersky AntiVirus 6.0 on my notebook, it is a great AntiVirus software. It updates its antivirus signatures every hour when my notebook is on, and I don't feel the update make my notebook slower. Yesterdy I received the Kaspersky AntiVirus 7.0 (free after rebate) from Amazon.com, and my husband installed it to his home PC (originally Trend was installed). His conclusion is that Kaspersky is much better than Trend.
