Strengths: High detection rate, light on PC resources

Weaknesses: iSwift, iChecker technologies

Overall Evaluation: I don't really have anything but good to say when it comes to KIS 7 as an antivirus (I disabled the firewall and other features, so I can't comment on those). It is fast, seamless (doesn't eat up resources like some other protection suites do) and does seem to detect everything. However, I had to get rid of it because their technologies iSwift and iChecker attach overhead to your file system that won't go away even if you uninstall KIS and upsets CHKDSK (this happens with both versions 6 and 7; google "kaspersky chkdsk"). I thought they removed this "feature" in v7 but they didn't. Worst of all, they refuse to provide users with a means to restore our systems (i.e., to remove the iSwift/iChecker tags/streams). Therefore, I had to ditch KIS 7 not because of its performance as a protection suite but because of what it does, IRREVERSIBLY (that is, unless I reformat my HDs), to my file system. Really a shame on an otherwise outstanding product.

Strengths: Updates every hour, less expensive- u can always see this for FAR.

Weaknesses: Blocks pop-ups from legit sites too

Overall Evaluation: Much better than most of the antiviruses which itself is a virus taking more of your system resources and slowing down the system. Other than blocking the pop-ups from legit sites too I don't see any other complaint with it. It also has a very good manual.

Strengths: Two words Virus protection. Theres the best at it and its only getting better. With updates every hour I don't se eany reason to use anything else.

Weaknesses: I wouldn't really call it a weakness. But for beginners its a little user intuative. People need to know what there doing with the software. Protection settings and all.

Overall Evaluation: With overall virus protection it sure is hard to beat. But, if your a beginner I would be sure to read the manual to learn some do's and do not.

Strengths: Easy install and great menu!

Weaknesses: Sometimes seems to slow down system.

Overall Evaluation: I installed this on my desktop and laptop with Vista running on both. Works great ! The daily updates from central server are nice to keep system updated with latest virus information. It seems to block every popups from legit sites and that is a pain in the neck as you have to then manually add it to trusted site.

Overall Evaluation: Wow! Reading all these positive comments compelled me to write one of my own. I feel like it is a conspiracy. This is not good software at all. I wont argue that it probaby will detect any and all virus and hacker attacks. It would have to! Since it basically doesnt allow any communication with anything! The amount of work you have to do to train and customize this software is frankly unacceptable. At $80, I expected it to be much more intuitive and user friendly. If you are a power user with nothing but time, and like the idea of working day and night to mold this tank into something usefull. By all means buy it now. I feel like they stole my money.

Strengths: one of the strongest anti-virus, internet security package. Updates as frequestly as you will allow it professional reviews placee it at one of the top

Weaknesses: Unfortunately does not work with mac os at work. But wrks well for my home pc.

Overall Evaluation: This is probably one of the most comprehensive security packages out there. It updates the virus list more frequestly than I've had with other antiviruses. A great value especially with the amazon rebates.

Overall Evaluation: I have tried several security software. But one of them is strong safe-guard but need more cpu, The other one crashed by a famous worm virus. Then i switched to kaspersky cause some good review and the good price. I would say I made the right choice after 20 days experience of running kaspersky. it is running fast, easy to use, update frequently and works great. I did an upgrade to Kaspersky 7.0 from the 6.0 version cause the price is good and I always believe new one(although the 6.0 version is also good.) The only problem is that I find is that Internet Explorer runs slower behind the Kaspersky firewall than behind the Windows firewall.

Overall Evaluation: I have used several computer security programs, The first one -- Norton which slow down my computer, Second one, Etrust which never told my what it had caught. Now I switched to kaspersky and finally be satisfied. It is easy to install, easy to use. The most important thing is that it never slow my computer down. Sometimes it popped up a window to tell me it found Trojan horses. That makes me happy cause I used another computer security software for several years and almost no virus no Trojan horses to be told.

Overall Evaluation: This is a great antivirus program. It works too well that it is blocking some of the websites that I normally visit. I still have not learned how to make the correct settings yet. So far, no virus or malware after scanning. It does slow down my system quite a bit.

Strengths: Solid Kaspersky antivirus engine

Weaknesses: Firewall is typically superfluous

Overall Evaluation: The value of this software package is in Kaspersky's antivirus (which is indluded). It is a lightweight and robust antivirus program that is just now taking its rightful place among the bigger name brands.The other half of this package, the firewall, seems a bit redundant to me at this point. Most of us, whether we know it or not, are behind some sort of firewall--be it hardware based through the router, integrated into our operating system, or both. I don't think there's a reason to install an additional layer of security except in those cases where the user of a computer may be a bit reckless with his internet habits (opening suspicious emails, using outdated web browsers, etc.)
