Strengths: High quality fit and finish.Os x leopard is solid and this has about everything you might need onboard. Overall the the quality of hardware is very good and I only had one problem during the setup process. I cold not get the right mouse click to work. The default mouse settings are not setup for it to work right.

Weaknesses: Dvd rom should be much faster. It is outdated and should be much faster, especially since its is not an easily changed component.Should come with 2 gigs of ram especially because ram is so cheap. To be brutally honest the price of 4gigs of ram ($850.00) is to me offending it is so overpriced.

Overall Evaluation: This is my very first mac.To be honest I was a little nervous spending $1,500 on this computer. But as it turns out I am quite happy with it. I am much harder to please than most people and I could only find one minor imperfection on this whole unit. That being a small spot by the camera lens. The unit is very quiet and everything works as it should. The only reason I didn't give it the highest mark is because of the outdated dvd rom. I love the keyboard. I have big hands usually hit the wrong keys by mistake, not on this keyboard (But unfortunately it does not help my spelling) I am more than happy with this mac and goodbye to all the malware etc.

Strengths: speed, sound, generous size monitor, Leopard OS

Weaknesses: limited compatibility to some peripherals

Overall Evaluation: I have used computers for years but this is my first purchase. So far, I have been well pleased. I did lots of research before buying and it seems to be paying off. The 2.4GHz, 20" provides a great balance of speed, size(not too big, not too small), and affordability. Although the audio is great, I do plan to add speakers to enhance the itunes experience. Also, shop carefully when purchasing a printer to ensure compatibility. Overall, I would purchase the same product again without a doubt. It's that good.

Strengths: Great display, very nice keyboard, fantastic design/features

    Weaknesses: none

Overall Evaluation: I bought my 20"iMac 2.4Ghz on December 7th from MacMall. Great price $1419 after rebates (I haven't received them yet). I wasn't sure what to expect but I can only say am very pleased with the system and its performance. Leopard is great and was included with the system. The new keyboard is beautiful, easy to type on and makes anything else look like they're from the stone age. I'm certain Apple will come up with a system that will make this look clunky, but it won't be anytime soon. Suffice to say, if you want a system that looks elegant, performs fast and deals with your digital needs then this is the system for you. iLife '08 is one of the best software packages on the planet and it comes free!

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: OS, all-in-one design, CPU Power, Case design

    Weaknesses: mouse, dead pixels

Overall Evaluation: I have used Macs (5th one) since mid-90s and have always appreciated their design and OS strengths. This is definitely a well-designed machine, and the new OS (Leopard) is quite good, especially compared to Vista. My only complaints with this machine is the fact it has a dead pixel right out of the box (VERY common with Apple displays)and the "cheesy" mouse, which I replaced with a far superior Logitech MX 518 gamer mouse. I am curious if Apple is using NEC displays in their iMac line or Cinema displays because I have had serious issues with NEC LCDs recently (dead pixels and bad image retention). I am a Web developer and graphic artist and have an intense workstation/gamer grade PC, but some reason I have always felt more creative on a Mac. Bottom line, this is a worthy PC replacement or add-on to your home/business design arsenal.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Sleek and beautiful design, simple and elegant operating system, wireless keyboard and mouse

    Weaknesses: none so far

Overall Evaluation: This is the second mac computer that I have bought within 3 months. I have converted to all Mac computers after the nightmare of putting up with Microsoft Vista Home premium. No more blue screens of death as in Windows. Solid stateside tech support. The only problem that I have is that there is not any decent financial management software for the Mac. Although Quicken for Mac is available it is about 13 generations behind the Windows version. Otherwise I am very happy with the purchase.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Great screen, better keyboard & more bang for your buck!

    Weaknesses: Power/Sleep light missing

Overall Evaluation: Apple has finally gotten its act together by redesigning the popular iMac. Apple no longer offers the popular 17" screen. It has been replaced by the 20" screen at the same price as the 17". Instead of white plastic, the iMac sports an attractive aluminum case with a black bezel around the screen. The display has been replaced with glass to match other Apple laptops. Some have complained about the reflections from the glass, but it is not a problem for me. Hard disc has been upped to 320GB so so can load more files. Apple has added a FireWire 800 port to replace one of the 2 FireWire 400 ports. This presumably would give you faster access to your documents. Apple has replaced its Pro Keyboard with this new slim keyboard. I always hated the "mushy" feel of the previous keyboard. This new keyboard has F keys with special functions from F1 to F12. Keys F13 to F19 are blank, but can be programmed to anything you like. On the negative side, there is very little to complain about. My personal gripe is that by adding the aluminum case instead of the plastic, there was no way to include the Power/Sleep light which used to glow on the lower right of the front of the iMac. Price is always a concern, especially compared to PCs. With this model, they have added more "bells and whistles" and not raising the price. Overall, this is an great computer. Everything worked perfectly right out of the box without checking the manual. Considering what is included on this iMac, it is an impressive array of features. About the only peripheral you need to add is a printer! You sure get a lot of features for the money.
