Strengths: It worked adequately for two weeks

Weaknesses: It stopped focusing after 2 weeks. Fujifilm have taken 2 months and not decided whether to fix or replace it. I have an empty wallet and no camera. It cost me $3.50 per photo.

    Overall Evaluation: Lousy after-sales service.

    Duration of ownership:3 Months

Strengths: Small, light, good menu, good colors in well-lit conditions.

Weaknesses: Broke down after two weeks of moderate use (stopped focusing). Fujifilm still haven't replaced or fixed it after 10 weeks of waiting and a couple of requests for a progress report.

Overall Evaluation: Very disappointing. I have an empty wallet and no camera. Photos under low-light conditions were very grainy and with poor color reproduction - the Fujifilm marketing overstates this as a strength of the camera. Flash charging was awkwardly slow. My biggest grumble is that I have to go to web pages to even remember what my camera looked like. I got half-way through an overseas holiday when it died so I couldn't take photos for half the trip. Now I have another overseas trip coming and it looks like I either go with no camera or buy a new one... which will NOT be from Fujifilm.

    Strengths: good night shooting mode

    Weaknesses: flashlight is too weak

Overall Evaluation: I had a fuji finepix F20 camera for myself. I was very glad it works very well with night shooting. Now I'm getting this for my girlfriend. she likes it a lot too. But we just felt the flashlight sometimes is too weak at dark.

    Duration of ownership:1 Months

Strengths: 12 MegaPixel, capable for both SD and XD cards.

    Weaknesses: LCD, not wide-angle lens.

Overall Evaluation: This camera is used as the 2nd camera beside my DSLR. I haven't tried taking any pictures in a low-light condition because that is my DSLR's job. Lack of view finder is not my problem because I don't use it anyway. When you use a view finder, you won't know the settings of camera (shutter speed, aperture, ISO) which are displayed on the LCD screen only. However, the LCD seems to be the only (small) issue I have with this camera. Even the brightness is set to the highest level, I barely see anything on the screen when taking a picture on a shiny day.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Low light shots are decentHuge LCDUses both xD and SD

    Weaknesses: No viewfinder

Overall Evaluation: I think this a great camera for the price. It has a nice feature that lets you take both a flash and natural light sight in succession. and shows the results of both side by side. The low light shots are pretty good. I was worried because some reviews praised it and other fault it it's ISO performance. However it seemed like the the bad reviews were not factoring in mega-pixel differences in their comparison with other cameras. After using it I'd have to say the good reviews were accurate. I've taken several ISO 800 pictures that turned out much better than the compacts I've used in the past.

    Duration of ownership:2 Months

Strengths: Compact size, 12MP, dual image stabilization

Weaknesses: Pictures are quite noisy at high ISO, Video recording is subpar

Overall Evaluation: I decided to purchase the Fuji FinePix F50fd after reading several online reviews rating this model as one of the best compact digital cameras. Picture quality is excellent in both well lit and dim locations as long as you have it set at a low ISO. My only complaint is that the video recording is subpar and there appears to be excessive noise in the background. Overall, a very functional, easy to use camera with excellent picture quality and decent features.

    Duration of ownership:9 Weeks

Strengths: very compact 12MP camera; face detection; performing well in low light; numerous advanced features

Weaknesses: only 25fps jpeg video at 640x480 max; ISO not lower than 100; flash a bit weak; noisy pics at high ISO.

Overall Evaluation: Going from a 10MP to a 12MP point and shoot camera, I expected some longer delay between shots. But the F50fd is actually much faster than my previous brand S 10MP camera. The picture is crisp and full of details. But like any other 12MP cameras, pictures are a bit noisy at high ISO. The dual image stabilization eliminates blurred pictures quite well and makes this camera very user friendly for those with shaky hands. It would be nice that the lcd screen is 3" instead of just 2.7" and the video frame rate is faster up to 30fps instead of just 25fps. Beyond that F50fd excels in all camera functions.

    Duration of ownership:1 Weeks

Strengths: Good cost-benefit ratio; slim design; menu easy to understand; high resolution up to 12M pixel; multiple modes to choose from; large LCD display; with image stabilization function; with facial detection function

Weaknesses: ISO setting not easy to find; 35mm zoom lens is not wide enough; without view finder

Overall Evaluation: I bought this digital camera to replace my old Canon powershot S500 bought 3 years ago. The Canon S500 is thicker and heavier than this one with only 5M pixel resolution and much smaller LCD display and is more expensive than this camera. But the Fuji F50 is very impressive by its large-sized LCD and its slim design. The wheeled menus is very easy to switch among different shooting modes. The 12M pixel is also very impressive which presents extremely fine picture quality. Frankly, I did find noisy background at the very beginning, but after I set the ISO setting from 400 to 100, the noise was gone. The facial detection function is a plus to shoot people without losing focus. But the camera does not have a view finder and the 35mm zoom lens seems not wide enough. Overall, it is a great digital camera with best cost-benefit ratio!

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Slim design, SD and XD card support, 12mp CCD sensor, small packing

Weaknesses: Noisy beyond ISO400-800, ISO6400 is not usable at all, a little bit pricey, and battery life.

Overall Evaluation: I've placed this one after my f31fd got stolen. F50FD has very slim design, and technologies but not usable in practical life. Start-up time of the camera is quite fast. Image quality is great in bright sun light. Not as good as f31fd in dim light.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: excellent image quality, compact, large LCD

Weaknesses: no view finder, image not as good as the Fuji F30/F31

Overall Evaluation: I purchased this camera after reading several reviews that claim this camera produces the best quality images compared to other point and shoot cameras. The camera definitely has not disappointed me. It does well in low/indoor light. I've read that the Fuji F31 is better, but unfortunately that model is no longer produced, and I'm unwilling to shell out the higher prices that some sellers are offering this camera at.
