    Overall Rating: 5 Star Review

    Duration of ownership:2 Years

Strengths: Inexpensive, easy to use, durable, fast, good looking, and more

    Weaknesses: None for me

Overall Evaluation: I love this printer! I bought it after the power switch on my Epson CX6600 quit working. It had just come on the market. Priced it with others at Best Buy then came home and researched it since I hadn't heard of it before. I'm just a normal joe with just regular everyday printing needs for printing recipes and other household things, maps and also work projects that needed a sharp look. The colors are vibrant. This is perfect for me. I don't use the card reader but it is good to know it's there and can be used without the PC. I have tried it out and was satisfied. Copying without the PC also is handy and easy. the LED screen and controls are simple to use. There are two sizes of black cartridge, a large and a standard size. Ink price is average. Large black gives great value. If colors are low, you can still print b&w without having to replace others as long as one doesn't go dry. But the best thing for me is the durability. I move around alot. I took it in my truck for a 10,000 mile trip that lasted 3 months and it worked every time I pulled it out. Usually the scanners are delicate but this one just keeps on chugging. I scan a lot and really like the scanning software for making multi page pdf files and other formats. I love it! Best printer I've ever owned.

    Duration of ownership:3 Weeks

Strengths: None. I made the mistake of buying TWO of these printers for the office. I would have said "low price" but since this printer did not work at all, it was a waste of money EVEN at a "low price."

Weaknesses: Time delay from clicking "print" to the printer actually printing, color distribution poor (gaps, bars), ink is wasted with unnecessary "priming," paper is more difficult to load than on previous Epson Stylus models, problems with accepting ink (even using genuine Epson cartridges), requires constant head cleaning due to clogging (another waste of ink), and the printer pretty much stopped printing graphics after 2 and i/2 weeks (and I mean even simple graphics like solid shapes). I have a 5 years old printer that prints better than this model.

Overall Evaluation: I've owned several of the Epson all-in-one printers through out the years. This is the only one that absolutely hated. It does not work, plain and simple. There are too many defects in this model. I am frankly surprised it was even sold like this. It is definitely a black mark on the company's reputation. After this printer I would never purchase, nor recommend any Epson product. I contacted Epson's customer service about the problems I encountered (some companies actually do want to hear if there is a consistent problem/defect with their product so they can repair it), but I was disappointed. Apparently integrity, honor, and loyalty mean nothing to Epson. Do not buy this printer. Research other brands. This one is not even useful in a home setting. A printer should print. The Stylus CX8400 does nothing more than disappoint.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: it scans, and prints just like any printer.

Weaknesses: All of the above. junk junk junk.

Overall Evaluation: okay. You run out of one of any four cartridge and the printer is nonoperational. I don't even print in color. I'm totally piss off. No stores are open. I have a lot of black ink left. Even bought extra black ink. Scam indeed. I'm sure the Epson got their moneys worth.

    Duration of ownership:2 Years

Strengths: Its all In one. Big whip. Thats now the basic standard for most printer out on the market.

Weaknesses: Can hardly get a decent amount of pages per new ink catridge. These things aren't the cheapest either. If you don't have one color the entire printer locks up and it wont even let you print in b&w

Overall Evaluation: This printer is a money hog. There no way thier filling thier catirges fully. Waste of money. I will never get another Epson printer in my life. BOO!

    Duration of ownership:

    Strengths: printer works

    Weaknesses: unbelievable ink scam.

Overall Evaluation: If you never use the color cartridges , you must replace the color cartridges periodically to continue to print in B/W! The printer actually uses some color ink to print in B/W.

    Duration of ownership:2 Years

    Strengths: it will print quickly

Weaknesses: YOU CANNOT DO ANY OF THE ALL-IN-ONE'S FUNCTIONS IF THE MACHINE DETECTS AN EMPTY INK CARTRIDGE!!

Overall Evaluation: This all-in-one will work fine IF you continuously buy ink cartridges. I understand that ink can be expensive, and I have no complaints about that, but this product will do NOTHING is you do not have ALL FOUR cartridges full at all times. I ran out of all four colors (black, cyan, magenta, cirrulean), and I went to buy a a black cartridge because I mostly print documents. I put the new one in, and the machine decided it would scan all of the cartridges, and, because three were empty, it decided I was not allowed to do anything. I called Epson, and a lovely script was read to me regarding how vital this SAFETY FEATURE is to the printer's correct functioning, and that it is not possible to bypass this operation and just print black-and-white images with my new black cartridge. I told him it sounded like a deliberate design flaw, but his parroted response drove me to hang up. You also cannot scan any images to your hard drive without having all the cartridges filled. I don't know what Epson is protecting me from, but apparently they are protecting me being productive.

    Duration of ownership:

    Strengths: Looks cool

    Weaknesses: Everything else

Overall Evaluation: I set my printer defaults to print with black ink only. Funny thing is all of my color cartridges ran out at the same time as my black ink. Strange that I never printed a page in color yet I ran out of ink. I bought more black thinking if I print only in black it would work. NOPE ALL INK NEEDS TO BE AVAILABLE! even if only printing text or b&w. Truth be told, the printer with it's first set of ink is now cheaper than buying a full set of new ink cartridges. I guess I have to decide if I want a new printer or just the ink, it just doesn't feel environmentally friendly if I buy a whole new printer but why pay more for just the ink

Strengths: Not a bad printer when it works

Weaknesses: It hates non Epson cartridges

Overall Evaluation: It might recognize them, and then all of a sudden not, it might say they are empty when you know they are over half full. Real Bummer :-(

Overall Evaluation: The printer operates as well as any other but the scanner does not operate well. I've emailed Epson 3 times about problems I'm having with it and they didn't respond.

Overall Evaluation: My First one didn't even work out of the box so i went to get another. one of my ink cartriges ran out and the whole printer basically refused to print! the ink seems to fun out extremely fast especially for the price. i'm begging you do not buy this P.O.S.
