Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Internet Strength and Distance. Combined no router can stop it
Weaknesses: NONE Pay attension to the install directions and you should be good at the most 20 mins.
Overall Evaluation: This Router is great for Large homes and Busniesses. It is the best router you can aquire for busniesses. HOOK up to 100 Laptops or Desktops wireless on one single High speed signal. I KNOW 100% that you wont noticed that the internet connection slows down or changes. I have used this item for a while. And the DISTANCE IS THE BEST. Amer

Strengths: Signal Range
Weaknesses: VoiP, SPI Firewall
Overall Evaluation: My experience is that GENERALLY speaking, the router works with my cable internet connection. The interface is relatively easy to use.My MAJOR beef is that VoiP does NOT WORK. This is a KNOWN problem (and if you search for it on various forums, for at least 1 year!).What happens is that the SPI firewall detects the VoiP calls (I have vonage) detects them as "UDP Floods" and drops the UDP frames, resulting in very choppy voice calls, both for me, and the callee. After doinking with tech support for a couple of weeks, realized they were just jerking me around. I really got aggravated when one of the last emails I got from them was to "erase cookies, clear your internet cache" - what the HECK does clearing my browser cookies have to do with VoiP using my external Vonage box? IDIOTS.The ONLY solution is to disable the SPI firewall - leaving you "nearly" naked except to the NAT firewall - no acceptable to me so I returned it. My Linksys WRT54G never had this problem.

Overall Evaluation: I had my PreN router replaced 2 times (took them 2 weeks to get me a new one...could have been longer unless I complained) and it's still slow as hell. I was put on "perpetual" hold (they never came back to the phone) 3 times by level 2 tech support. Obviously they think it's funny or just don't care. I would stay away due to their horrible tech support.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Provides good signal coverage
Weaknesses: Does not provide good speedBelkin tech support is useless
Overall Evaluation: I had an old Netgear WRT54G and decided to upgrade to something that covered my 2500 sq ft house better. This router covers my house with "Very Good" signal strength BUT the speeds are horrible. Using only the "G" I can only connect for about 30 seconds at 54mbps then I am dropped to 11mbps no matter how far or close I am to the access point! It is really redicoulous when im sitting about 2 ft away from the router and I can only connect at B speed. At the other end of my house I can only connect at 1 mbps which is better than my old netgear. I bought this router to use as a access point but I haven't been able to get that working correctly either. I have been emailing tech support and now after the 4th email they have stopped responding. Not worth it!

Overall Evaluation: I'm using this router as a public access point to the internet, with my Belkin F5D8230-4 card in my laptop I can pick up a strong signal out to 2 city blocks (down an open street). It can even be picked up through 7 brick walls.

Strengths: Speed, Speed & Security..!
Weaknesses: Installation..!
Overall Evaluation: The combination of Belkin Wireless Pre-N Router "F5D8230-4", Desktop Network Card "F5D8000" and Notebook Network Card "F5D8010" are blazing fast. One minor downside is the installation of the wireless adapters. It is a little tricky. You need to make sure that Wireless Zero Configuration in Services is enabled and disabled the entire internal wireless. I installed Belkin Pre-N wireless adapter driver and cancelled installation. I went straight to Network Connections and set up wireless's SSID. I added the preferred networks that I set up in the Pre-N router, and I used WPA-PSK as Network Authentication and TKIP for Data Encryptions. I bypassed the Belkin Wireless Network Client. It doesn't work very well with Windows XP Media.Belkin is by far better than my previous Linksys, Netgear and D-link. It is a little pricey but you get what you paid for. The blazing speed is worth the troubles..!

Strengths: Simple, easy set up using software supplied or going the manual route. Havnt found a dead spot yet!
Weaknesses: Havnt seen any yet.
Overall Evaluation: Ive found this router doing what a good router should keeping pace with my net. No delay lag or any other annoying wireless habits. Massive coverage area behind walls, doors etc, seems to be no obsticle for performance. After lynksys n dlink seems I found a winner.

Strengths: When you finally get things configured, this pre-N router kicks butt over 802.11g speeds!
Weaknesses: The manual assumes you are knowledgable about networking AND that you are starting from scratch; no mention is made of how to upgrade your current network or laptop hardware.
Overall Evaluation: I work from home & wanted faster wireless transmission because even seconds add up over a ten-hour shift. Expert reviews say Belkin's pre-N does the best job of staying close to the 108Mbps speed, so when Circuit City offered $10 off each of the router & notebook adapter, I took a chance. Networking is always a hassle, and the troubleshooting tips helped some, but when Belkin Support sent me email instructions on how to "really" reset my router & notebook, I finally got connected back to the internet (Verizon DSL 3Mb/728); for wireless, you MUST use the pre-N adapter to get top speed, BUT IT IS WORTH THE COST!!! For my townhouse apartment the Belkin's range is excellent, even out on the patio. The instructions for encrypting my wireless connection were easy to follow and I appreciated the hexidecimal converter, although it didn't mention that you don't need periods or spaces between characters when typing in the key. You have to be patient for Tech Support, but when you get it, it's top notch!

Strengths: Better range & simultaneous .11b + .11g wireless
Weaknesses: LED displays are not useful, blends light from adjacent LEDs
Overall Evaluation: After a bad experience with a D-Link Pre-N unit I was nervous about being disappointed again.I was not disappointed at all. This Belkin Pre-N unit does its main job (wireless) very well. Of course the wired ports are just fine.As far as I can tell, it is the only one out there that runs 802.11b AND g at the same time. That alone is great, but it also really does give a quite noticeable improvement of wireless range -- I'm now using WEP because the range is so far I was worried neighbors or strangers might get into my LAN.One problem tho is that I can't seem to get all of my wireless clients (4 laptops in the house) to stay on when WPA security is on. Perhaps I'll figure that out some day. Also the LEDs are not discreet, which is to say the light emitted from one LED bleeds over to nearby ones but I don't see that as being important.
