Strengths: Can't think of any. The product is a bloat ware, it installs so many things on your computer and makes your computer run so slow that you don't even need a virus as another user observed here. This itself is worse than a virus. Note I run this on a Vist
Weaknesses: Now, where do I start? --Rebate Ripoff!
Overall Evaluation: Be smart! Don't make the mistake that I did even after reading the reviews here. The McAfee seems to ripoff people in many ways. Another user has observed here in newegg that McAfee automatically renew and charge our credit card/bank account without notifications at the end of the year and we need to remember to call and cancel. For me this will not be an issue, since I am planning to uninstall and cancel this subscription right now. Unfortunately I can not return since I mailed the UPC on rebate already. But this product is not worth even free!

Strengths: Inexpensive
Weaknesses: slows your computer down
Overall Evaluation: It is easy to install, and compatible with both Vista and XP. It does works on protecting your computer. I bought it totally free after the mail-in rebate. What should we expect from the freeware? So far it has not disapointed me yet, and I was able to get good protection without paying anything.

Strengths: Works in Vista, antivirus, firewall, anti-malware, etc.
Weaknesses: Not the best GUI, will be a drag on slower systems
Overall Evaluation: I find the GUI to be less appalling than Symantec products, but that does not affect the performance of the product and is just personal preference. Like most security suites, Mcafee provides antivirus, firewall and malware protection. No suite is going to be 100% percent perfect at protection, but I have not had any problems with viruses or malware slipping through while using this software. One plus is the system scans are relatively quick. In most cases the software can be purchased at next to nothing, so for the price it is a very good bargain. If you have a firewall solution on your Internet hardware and this security suite on your computer, there shouldn't be any problems from outside attacks.

Strengths: Good product,wide range of protection,easy install,choose option.
Weaknesses: slow down the PC
Overall Evaluation: I have highly confident with McAfee software. In my work place,have install McAfee virus software for more than 2 years. Do not have any problem to my PC and we have a lots document file attach to it and send out and receive in E-mail every day. Update the Internet Security Suite - 3 Userto my PC. Especially,it has the new interface and test message shown the level protection in your PC. that is the remind signal to let you aware of the viruses.

Overall Evaluation: Just like previous versions of McAfee Internet Security suite, it does what it claims to do, protects your computer from viruses. It also slows your computer down quite a bit. I'm surprised that McAfee hasn't improved much over the years to make their products less of a burden on the CPU. I wouldn't install this on a relatively old machine. On the plus side, it does come with everything a normal user would need to keep his PC safe.

It is easy to install.But it consumes more system resources, uses a lot of memory and slows down your system a lot.

Overall Evaluation: good product. Easy to setup and use. I had no problems on vista. The performance of the product is excellent. Much cheaper to buy compared to other brands. I would highly recommend it.

Strengths: Works great with my Vista system, Much protection + clean old or unnecessary files to get more hard drive space
Weaknesses: Slow the system speed for XP system
Overall Evaluation: Bought this unit for my computers and it works different in my two system. Vista is more compatible with this software than the XP. I can feel the obvious fact that it slow down the XP speed after installing it. But for Vista, it works great, this software provide much protection and you can also delete the old files to sace more disk space. Based on Vista, this is the best Internet security compared with Norton, CA. But not quite recommend it using XP system.

Strengths: Great security and protection, great for all purpose general usage. Easy to use; definitely would recommend for people who need something to protect their computer from the harms of the Internet.
Weaknesses: Would not recommend for tough virus, worm, and trojan protection. A surprisingly large amount pass through undetected, especially the trojans.
Overall Evaluation: I like the program, and it's especially great for people that use the Internet sparingly and do not visit suspicious websites. It's sold for a great price, and provides a decent level of protection. The reason I don't recommend ISS for those other people (such as sys admins, IT, or just people who do A LOT of Internet surfing), is that the McAfee heuristic system is not always effective at detecting all threats to your computer.

Strengths: Fast, easy, options for custom installation
Weaknesses: The Security Center GUI is bit unintuitive
Overall Evaluation: I have been using McAfee for 2 years now. I have bought this product as an upgrade. It has the custom installation feature which enables us to install only selected component if required. I install only the antivirus and the firewall. In Norton you have to install all the components and then you may turn off features you dont want. Works perfectly on XP. The earlier version has good GUI of the Security Center. Great security product !
