Overall Evaluation: good product. Easy to setup and use. I had no problems on vista. The performance of the product is excellent. Much cheaper to buy compared to other brands. I would highly recommend it.

Strengths: Works great with my Vista system, Much protection + clean old or unnecessary files to get more hard drive space
Weaknesses: Slow the system speed for XP system
Overall Evaluation: Bought this unit for my computers and it works different in my two system. Vista is more compatible with this software than the XP. I can feel the obvious fact that it slow down the XP speed after installing it. But for Vista, it works great, this software provide much protection and you can also delete the old files to sace more disk space. Based on Vista, this is the best Internet security compared with Norton, CA. But not quite recommend it using XP system.

Strengths: Great security and protection, great for all purpose general usage. Easy to use; definitely would recommend for people who need something to protect their computer from the harms of the Internet.
Weaknesses: Would not recommend for tough virus, worm, and trojan protection. A surprisingly large amount pass through undetected, especially the trojans.
Overall Evaluation: I like the program, and it's especially great for people that use the Internet sparingly and do not visit suspicious websites. It's sold for a great price, and provides a decent level of protection. The reason I don't recommend ISS for those other people (such as sys admins, IT, or just people who do A LOT of Internet surfing), is that the McAfee heuristic system is not always effective at detecting all threats to your computer.

Strengths: Fast, easy, options for custom installation
Weaknesses: The Security Center GUI is bit unintuitive
Overall Evaluation: I have been using McAfee for 2 years now. I have bought this product as an upgrade. It has the custom installation feature which enables us to install only selected component if required. I install only the antivirus and the firewall. In Norton you have to install all the components and then you may turn off features you dont want. Works perfectly on XP. The earlier version has good GUI of the Security Center. Great security product !

Overall Evaluation: I am working at a university and the reason I chose McAfee is because I use it at work and feel comfortable with it. I have this security suite installed only on one XP system for about 2 weeks which I believe enough time for problems to show up and I had no problems for so far. The installation is simple and easy to follow. It happened to me that when I used other antivirus some did cause numerous problems running programs, but not this one. It works great!!

Strengths: * Works perfect on Windows XP & Vista without side effects.* Highly reliable* Inexpensive* All-in-one protection

Overall Evaluation: I have tried few other security software such as CA Internet security, Symantec 360 etc. CA was fine and didn't gave any problems during my regular operations. However, I was not confident enough about its security feature. I had a bitter experience with Symantec, it crashed my OS one time. Finally I decided to go for McAfee Internet Security Suite. It has good ratings and good security features. It never gave me any problem on both XP and Vista. In my opinion, this is the best Antivirus & Internet Security Software for Home users.

Strengths: fast, easy user interface, effective, not very expensive
Weaknesses: can load down a laptop while scanning if not configured to run in background
Overall Evaluation: McAfee seems to finally get the crown from Symantec. McAfee ISS solution is hands down better than any Norton solution on the market. It is easy to install, fast scanning, very effective in blocking malware, while the site-advisor is useful in dealing with kids on the computer. The price is usually good after rebate. The only gripe so far is that you have to be careful if you are on a laptop to make sure it runs its scans in background and not take too many resources. On the plus side, it does remember where it left if the laptop goes in hibernation so you do not have to restart a scan
