  Strengths: Makes doing taxes quick and easy.

  Overall Evaluation: Turbotax is my favorite tax program and has been for the past several years. The instructions are easy to understand, and everything goes smoothly as long as you can follow directions and input numbers correctly. It automatically calculates everything for you too, which is a bonus. Overall I highly recommend Turbotax Deluxe.

  Overall Evaluation: This software is not bad as a simple tool to fill the tax form. Well in my case it's more than basic and a little complicated so it could not do all the work for me. Nevertheless it does do its job.

  Strengths: Easy to follow Interview system, very comprehensive

  Weaknesses: none

  Overall Evaluation: Highly Recommended. Taxes will never be a simple matter with the tax code that we have but Turbotax makes it about as simple as possible.The easy to follow Interview process will make your return simple to complete. I had a complex return with overseas income and was able to complete my return quite simply.

  Overall Evaluation: This software was very easy to use. I prepared both my state and federal taxes and the questions were very easy to follow and answer. The calculations were automatic and I was able to file my returns electronically. Overall this is a solid software.

  Strengths: Many questions asked gets the job done well.

  Weaknesses: Make sure you run the program as close to April 15th as you can to make sure the program is completely updated.

  Overall Evaluation: I used the program for a teacher friend of mine. Teachers in California should be paid WAY more than they are, but that's another topic. They do receive a couple modest (still insulting) tax breaks from the IRS; teacher retention credit and educator-expenses deduction. The teacher retention credit was actually scrapped this year and even though TurboTax said the educator-expenses deduction was cancelled this year too, it wasn't and I had to manually find and enter the deduction on the form. Last year there was a glitch in the Premier's stock organizer but they did give me a refund. It's not completely user friendly but if you kind of know what you're doing it's a pretty sweet deal for $40.

  Strengths: This is the first time I've used this, and good lordy it was easy! It calculated everything great. And filed my returns for me. Step by step, super easy for me. And a huge return!

  Weaknesses: The updates were KILLING ME! It had to download updates left and right. I have dial up, and it took up to a half hour hour for all the downloads. That sucked a little.

  Overall Evaluation: Man was this program easy! I was using it on my mac, and it was simple, and easy to use. Just like my mac! Man, this is the first time I've used it, and I've never been happier. I've gotten the BIGGEST federal return EVER! CRIPES! I'm so stoked. This is also the first time I've done my own taxes, and I was super nervous. But it worked flawlessly, and I was really impressed by how simple it was! The updates thing kind of was a pain. It needed to download a lot of updates before I could do anything, or finally file my return. And the 15 dollar e-filing kind of sucked. But there were a ton of rebates with this. And the rebates were pretty decent, and not to hard to fill out. Which was cool. Yeah, I'm really impressed with this program. Worked great with the turbo tax state program too. Man, the calculations and everything, let me see what I was getting as I was going along, that was pretty cool. Really simple for me. I really liked it.

  Strengths: Interactive and simple software. Easy to use.

  Weaknesses: No provision for Non residents to use.

  Overall Evaluation: The box gave me a scare and I thought it would have lots of manuals to read. But the box had just a CD and it loaded easily and I was able to fill out the forms in a very easy and interactive manner. Though had problem filing the NR form.

  Strengths: Easy to use.

  Weaknesses: Not all tax laws are explained throughly.

  Overall Evaluation: Have used this software for several years. I like the fact that it imports personal information from previous year's version which saves time and reduces errors. Help files could be more comprehensive - often have to go to IRS web site for more info. I also use Turbo Tax for Business.
