  Strengths: Easily integrates into the computer

  Overall Evaluation: This program works well in the background. I purchased it predominantly for the registry cleaning functionality and it performed fine. I had been concerned that it might leave my registry unuseable, and I did not have any problems.

  Strengths: Support vista. No norton antivirus, firewall, etc.

  Weaknesses: The price is not good.

  Overall Evaluation: I have moved away from norton anti-virus and norton firewall, which are resource-consuming. But I am still a fan of the traditional norton utility. So this one is what I need. It is essentially just a new version of the famed Norton Utility. It contains no norton antivirus, firewall, etc. So you don't have to pay what you don't need. On the other hand, the price difference between this one and the other version are not that big. It's not quite fair.

  Strengths: good defrag and registry cleanup

  Weaknesses: no antivirus, firewall or backup included; memory hog, slow at times; expensive for what it does

  Overall Evaluation: The cheapest version of the Norton System Works 2008 edition, the Basic Edition is really stripped down from the others: no antivirus, no firewall and no backup and restore utilities are included. It's just basic registry repair, defragment, temp file delete and cookie cleaner. To add insult to injury, this is still your classic Symantec memory and hard-drive hog, taking more than its share of system resources. Go with something else like McAfee Total Protection if you need a full suite, or even Symantec's Norton Internet Security Suite if you want to continue with a Symantec Product. Even the other 2 editions, the Standard and Premier are preferable. For $50 MSRP, this is a clear ripoff, not worth the money

  Strengths: this software is very easy to install and use.

  Weaknesses: It slows down computers significantly and there is no antivirus in this suite

  Overall Evaluation: This software is very easy to install and use, so you don't need to be an expert on computer in order to use it. It also seems that it works very well, doing what it supposed to do. It also seems that it slows down your computer significantly and there is no antivirus in this suite. so you need to install some version of antivirus product, and it may slow your computer down even further and mean more money spending. so go for higher version of systemworks, it well worth the additional money.
