Duration of ownership:2 Weeks
Strengths: works effectively
Weaknesses: hang up the computer
Overall Evaluation: I am quite happy with this software to replace the junk Computer Associate that I had in my computer. It has been working better than CA software in terms of spyware removal. The program still hung up my computer but it was not as bad as CA softwares.

Duration of ownership:2 Months
Strengths: works better than Norton or McAfee
Weaknesses: still slows down the computer a bit
Overall Evaluation: Trend Micro is definitely better than any Norton or McAfee bloatwares even though the program did slow down my computer a little bit. However, I think the program does a good job in finding and remove spywares hanging around in the computer system. Overall, this software is recommended to replace those junks such as CA, Norton, or McAfee.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Scanning efficiency and quickly
Weaknesses: no
Overall Evaluation: Trend Micro does not have the reputation like Norton and McAfee, but it is a better choice compared with Norton and McAfee. First, it took less time in virus scanning. Second, it costs less than comparable Norton and McAfee products. Third, it provide almost comparable functions in protection and securing your machine.

Strengths: Resource Efficiency.
Weaknesses: Didn't see to much from last version.
Overall Evaluation: This anti-virus software is really resource efficiency compared with comparable anti-virus softwares, such as those from CA, Norton and McAfee. It can scan the disk much faster than those mentioned but occupies less resources. Comparing with the 2007 version, I didn't see too much improvement from 2008 version.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: easy to install
Weaknesses: doesn't seem as fast as kasperskynot as completedoesn't do as well
Overall Evaluation: Works ok for XP. Doesn't work for 64 bit XP, though (it does work for Vista64). Also doesn't seem to be as complete as kaspersky or norton. Doesn't have plugin for the-bat like kaspersky. For free after rebate this is not bad, but I'd probably go with Kaspersky or norton instead otherwise.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Gets the job done. Very easy to setup, very easy to configure.
Weaknesses: None so far.
Overall Evaluation: The interface is very easy to use. The menu structure is very clean and well organized, but you can fine-tune the settings. Scanning is very fast, although it uses a lot of the CPU. You can do simple things like browse the internet or work on a document while the scan is going on, though.

Strengths: Uses less memory
Weaknesses: None
Overall Evaluation: I keep reading about people having trouble with this product, and I have never had any issues. I run with two computers, and I have two other family members running as well with no issues. For those that are still under license for previous versions, Trend Micro allows you to update to the latest version free of charge.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: fast, runs in background, automatically updates without interruption
Weaknesses: None to date
Overall Evaluation: The is the second time I have purchased this product. i owned the 2007 version and prefer this to the Norton Internet security 2007 and 2008 product as it is much simpler to use and gets the job done whithout any problems. I have used this product online on prior occasions and it was recommended by some of the pc magazine I read regularly. A great improvement over suites in that past.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: 3-user edition by default; unobtrusive
Weaknesses: Overpriced
Overall Evaluation: Trend Micro is making strides to becoming more and more widespread in use. Ditching the dated "PC-Cillin" moniker was a start (although it is mentioned on the box). They are honing a product that stays out of your way. What I mean is that it isn't plagued by the incessant popups and messages that characterize other companies' offerings. The price point is a bit high in my opinion considering that Trend Micro hasn't quite made a name for themselves yet. The fact that the program includes a 3-user license makes the price sound a little more reasonable, but it is still more expensive than Kaspersky, which is leaps and bounds ahead in my opinion.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: - comprehensive coverage
Weaknesses: - None that I found
Overall Evaluation: I have used PC-cillin for about a month now and I liked it. There wasn't a terrible difference in speed when I installed it, and my computer is virus-free. I would probably buy this again.
