Strengths: The 15.4" Glossy Screen. The Speakers. The most bang for the buck.2 GB of Ram helps a lot !
Weaknesses: Battery Life. It would nice to get at least 4 hours. But I have to recharge after 2.5 hours
Overall Evaluation: I have owned 2 other Toshiba laptops & they NEVER failed on me. That's why I again went with Toshiba. I was upgrading and give the other 2 away. The wireless works Great too !

Strengths: The computer is compact and easy to use. The user guide is great and customer support has been fantastic.
Weaknesses: none that I can see so far.
Overall Evaluation: Mine came with Windows Vista Premium. I love it. I upgraded to 2 GB of ram and I have a 2 GB USB stick. It's fast enough for me. I also have PC Pitstop Optimize running to keep things running smoothly. By far it's the best Laptop computer I have ever owned.

Strengths: Good sound quality as well as bright LCD display, lighter than counterparts
Weaknesses: no SD card slot, comes with lot of junk software
Overall Evaluation: This laptop, despite of falling in budget range computers, meets well above expectations. I am surprised with the inbuilt sound quality (Dolby system), processor speed especially if you upgrade the RAM to 2 GB. I know speed can be a problem for window vista at lower RAM, but this buddy is easily upgradable to 4 GB RAM. I like the color (Onyx blue)and overall built of the laptop. Finally I would say you wont get anything better than this in this price range.

Strengths: cost effective,sturdy
Weaknesses: 1GB RAM, however, one can always upgrade the memory
Overall Evaluation: I purchased this laptop for $450 and upgraded RAM to 2GB spending another 30 bucks. I am amazed by the performance of this laptop as earlier I had Dell with much higher configuration and price. I really cant differentiate between two laptop's performance. I would recommend this laptop to all who dont want to use heavy graphics/videos and just need it for Email/chatting and routine purposes.

Strengths: Have had 20+ with only one having a problem...reliable systems
Weaknesses: Worst Tech support ever dealt with...be ready to wait months before they return.
Overall Evaluation: Watch out for their Tech Support...I have been an IT Pro for over 15 years and used Toshiba laptops with different companies. Their laptops are top notch and this is the first time I have had to use their tech support. Saying this, their tech support is probably the worst I have ever dealt with. We sent in the laptop with a broken headset jack. They return it a few days later un-repaired and for some reason they re-installed the windows (My in-house techs could have done this)We sent it back and today it is still sitting in their repair center (going on 5 weeks). When I call and talk with their Tech support they give you the "I don't give a crap about you" attitude and basically tell us we have to wait and it tough if we don't like it.I use to be a very big fan of Toshiba but this is enough for me to pull our company completely out. So be warned, if the laptop has problems you will have a major headache called Tech Support...

Strengths: Have all the pieces in place. It works not very well but ok. A lot of freeware/shareware programs and games already installed.
Weaknesses: No support for other platforms than Vista. No drivers for other than Vista. Cheap keyboard plastic. Only 2 USB ports. No PS2 port. No sharp display.
Overall Evaluation: I'm a little disappointed about Toshiba. I don't know what in the world is that run for "Windows Vista Ready" and only Vista. I'm not buying a platform; I'm buying a computer that I need to use it with any platform I want. I intend to send it back.

Strengths: Beautiful display. Comfortable keyboard. Intel Processor. Toshiba is a known superior brand, Light weight, fast and intuitive. When battery runs out, you plug in and pick right back where you left off.
Weaknesses: 1 GB RAM (2 512 MD DDR2). I upgraded my own RAM (very easy) to 2 sticks of 1 GB DDR2. Runs like a dream now. No S Video.
Overall Evaluation: I shopped high and low. I compared this laptop with MANY others including the Compaq of the "same quality." The laptop does not have S-video. But you can add a PCMCIA card with a video out if you like, you could even add Firewire via the PCMCIA. THIS is what put it over the top for me. Compaq may have the S video, but No PCMCIA slot (Express card). I highly recommend this laptop. Get the RAM upgrade and you will be very happy with this computer!

Strengths: I've purchased several Toshia Notebook computers and they never let me down. This model is realy worth of the price I spent to meet my major daily computing needs.
Weaknesses: memory upgrade to 2GB recommended for using Vista. Remove unnecessary residential programs to booster bootup speed.
Overall Evaluation: Generally speaking, this is a great notebook computer for average to professional users. It comes with almost every requirements for both computing and entertainment, with DL DVD burner, it's also good for data storage. With the price of $479 at Circuit City, What a good deal!

Strengths: Quality hardware from Toshiba. Impressive LCD display. Not too heavy at 6 lbs.
Weaknesses: Bloatware from Toshiba causes Vista to be even more sluggish than usual. Only 2 USB ports. "Recovery Disks" for Vista re-install bloatware too!! Hard to find XP drivers.
Overall Evaluation: I managed to get a great deal for this laptop (380$). I'm absolutely thrilled with the laptop. Toshiba is renowned for making quality laptops and although this is a more budget oriented laptop, it is still quite impressive. The screen is really bright and there doesn't seem to be any significant "light leaking" when displaying black as is the case in certain Dell laptops. I'd have preferred if the laptop had more USB ports. 2 seems to be too few. I really like the laptop on the whole. No BSODS yet. I've been uninstalling the bloatware and streamlining Vista using tips from a bunch of websites and Vista is already behaving better and is more responsive. I would have preferred to install XP on this, but it is hard to track down all the necessary drivers. Toshiba only supports Vista on this laptop and so you can't download XP drivers from them. Ofcourse, it can be done but it involves a lot of mucking around to find the right drivers and a fairly high level of tech expertise. All in all I'd definitely recommend it, especially if you get a good price for it.
