    Duration of ownership:2 Weeks

    Strengths: Not found

    Weaknesses: Bad quality pictures.

Overall Evaluation: Bought this camera for wide angle options. Took sample pictures & checked on computer - terrible quality. Replaced it for another one from Future shop and the same story. Return it for full refund. My 4 years old Olympus much makes better quality pictures

    Overall Rating: 5 Star Review

    Duration of ownership:2 Weeks

Strengths: 5X zoom, larger lens, user friendly extras, and small enough to fit in a purse!

    Weaknesses: None

Overall Evaluation: I was happy with my old Sony W-7, but this one far exceeds that one! The pictures are clearer and the colors are sharper. The "smile detection" really works! My husband rarely smiles for pictures, so this makes me really happy. The face detection feature also is a pleasure to use-no need to have subject in the middle anymore. It takes great photos at night. I was happy with the battery life too. This is one great little camera with a lot of terrific features to use.

    Overall Rating: 4 Star Review

    Duration of ownership:1 Weeks

Strengths: Wide Angle lens, 5X Zoom

    Weaknesses: Memory Stick, Beeping

Overall Evaluation: First off, any compact camera takes crappy pictures compared to a SLR or any big camera with a big lens. The problem with compact cameras is that the lens is so small that the amount of light reaching the CCD is small, hence bad picture. You just try to do the best because of the trade off of being a small camera you can keep in your pocket. This Sony has one of the bigger lenses because of the 5X Zoom, more light means better picture. Also, it has a decent wide angle lens compared to other compact cameras. The worst part is that you have to buy Memory Stick flash for this, why can't Sony just go with the pack and use SD like the rest of the world. Because they have to milk every penny and insist upon their memory only. The closest competing camera is the Canon 890 which also has a wide angle and 5X zoom for a compact camera. I chose the Sony because the 890 has been out for a longer time and is a 2007 model. A replace should be out in November.

    Overall Rating: 4 Star Review

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: 10 Mega Pixel, wide angle, image stabilization, it's a SONY.

Weaknesses: It's bigger and heavier than my Canon SD IS1100. Focus slow under low lighting situation. ISO can also be high in those situations. The black one looks better.

Overall Evaluation: This is a quality SONY camera with wide angle and image stabilization. It's built quality is very good but there are some weaknesses which are described above. Another thing that I don't like about the camera is that while in recording mode, you can not zoom digitally. It's also quite heavy for a portable camera but that is expected due to its battery. Overall good performer but make sure you play with it in a store before purchasing.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: 10 Mega Pix, 5X optical, compact

Weaknesses: Only use Sony style memory card, only use Sony style battery which is expensive to get a new one.

Overall Evaluation: I would hope Sony use industrial style memory card and AAA battery. Though the battery life is OK, but it still made me wait for the charging from time to time. The 10 Mega pix is impressive, and the 5 X optical is better than most comparables. The interval between two shots is too long, I am not sure if it because of the card or the camera. it is not really any different than its counterpart, the W150.

    Overall Rating: 5 Star Review

    Duration of ownership:2 Days

    Strengths: very good optics,great pictures,wide angle,anti-shake mode,light sensitive,smile shutter

Weaknesses: a little heavy (compared to the more slim Casio models),battery lid is plastic (how long will it take to break?!)

Overall Evaluation: This camera gives you great pictures and movies. It takes very good pictures during evenings with low light. The anti-shake mode kicks in and the pictures are very natural and sharp. The quality of these pictures is amazing! They are way better than the pictures I get with my Casio Exilim 600. The zoom works quite fast in the W170 and I am really happy with the camera. As the cable is somewhat special (not a usual 5pin USB cable) I would suggest to get a card reader to access the pictures on the go. I highly recommend this product!

    Overall Rating: 5 Star Review

    Duration of ownership:7 Days

Strengths: it takes super sharp and clear pictures

    Weaknesses: none

Overall Evaluation: This camera likely is the best point and shoot camera among all the same kind of cameras I've used so far. The pictures are increditable. Enen in night vision, it takes pretty decent pictures without turning on flashing affecting background. Pictures for moving objects are great too. So are video clips. It's pocket size and you can carry it anywhere.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: clear and easy to use

Weaknesses: memory card is a little expensive

Overall Evaluation: This is the best digital camera I have ever had, love it, especially for the 5X optial zoom and 10.1 mega pixels, which bring me the new experience I have never had. You will never reget getting it, highly recommend it. Also this is really good quality for the price. Go for it!

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: definitely the 10.1 mega pixels and the 2.7 LCD screen.

Weaknesses: It takes awhile for the picture to load , after its taken.

Overall Evaluation: This is my first digit camera and i am already please. I have had it for about three two days, and the pictures are great. I really like the twilight function, you can take pictures in complete darkness and the picture looks like it was daylight outside. I also love the close capture function and 5x zoom. The picture does not come out looking too big. I think i might fall in love with this camera , only time will time. But so far so good.

    Overall Rating: 4 Star Review

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: 5X optical zoom, 15MB internal battery, 10 megapixels.

    Weaknesses: not that stylish IMO.

Overall Evaluation: I have used this camera for a day so far, but I'm very impressed with the 5X optical zoom len with image stabilization. Most of the point and shoot cameras in the market are 3X optical zoom, then added some digital zoom, which degrades the imaging resolution. This is the first P&S camera has 5X optical zoom and 10 megapixels. It took super clear pictures and suitable for big prints. The downside is that it's a bit thick and bulky, to fit the 5X zoom lens. So it's not as stylish as Canon cameras in my opinion, even with the red or gold color body. The smile detection work well for me, and the 15MB internal memory is a plus.
