Duration of ownership:3 Months
Strengths: fast, small footprint (compared to previous HP OfficeJet), excellent price
Weaknesses: comes with starter toner cartridge, scanner slower and smaller (compared to previous HP OfficeJet)
Overall Evaluation: We have had both HP Laser & Inkjet printers for years and have been pleased overall. Before the M1522 we had an OfficeJet which was nice but we found that we did not print in color all that much and the cartridges had to be replaced even though they had not seen much use. The M1522 warms up and copies/prints very quickly. Two small things I do miss from our OfficeJet are automated two-side copying and a faster/larger scanner bed. I would not have paid full price for this printer (or any printer for that matter) but at half off I think it was a great value.

Strengths: flatbed scanner, network, laser, fax
Weaknesses: slow scanning
Overall Evaluation: This is a great All-In-One Laser Printer. My previous printer was the HP Laserjet 1020 which had a sheet feed scanner, but this one has a flatbed scanner and network ready! Easy for copying pages from books, pictures and documents. Network printing was easy to setup and works flawlessly. The machine itself doesnt take up a lot of space and fits perfectly. The included software is a bit bloated though. I have yet to have any problems or paper jams. Highly recommended!

Strengths: HP Quality, reliability, easy installation
Weaknesses: Bit on the large side!
Overall Evaluation: We have been impressed with the quality and speed of this unit. It is also networkable, so it's added functionality has been a bonus. With the HP brand behind this unit, we feel secure in our purchase decision and its reliability. This was a more important buying point that all out price. If there is a downside, the unit is a little large, but it may need to be this large for all the functionality. With the $200 rebate, it was a real bargain!

Strengths: network ready,Easy install
Weaknesses: No cable inside
Overall Evaluation: This is a network ready All-in-one. I just plugged the Ethernet cable into the printer, and installed the software for both Vista and XP systems, and the printer was automatically discovered, It works perfectly in both Operation Systems. The instruction is so clear and the device was extremely easy to setup, and so does the software. But the time of software installation is a little longer than what I think. The machine is fast and makes excellent images. But the speed of start is a little bit slow. It is very convenient for the home or small office situation where space is tight I bought this one just because of a great discount and it is very worth what I paid.

Strengths: Finally an All-in-One that really means it. It is a black laser printer that is VERY fast and has extremely fast print speed from even cold start. If you need something like this, HIGHLY recommended.
Weaknesses: No color (but hey what do you want) this was a DEAL with $200 rebate. Net price $60 after rebates + tax.
Overall Evaluation: What else can I say about this other than I'm not regretting this purchase. Network capabilities plus all-in-one makes this a must have for any home or small business. Everything can be done over the ethernet, no need for USB attached, even for scanning. HP has created a great product, I couldn't be more pleased. Not to mention suburb value. It's big brother M2727nf has duplex, but that's only thing this one doesn't have other than color. Get this one if you can. I've gone through a lot of printers in my day, I don't think I've ever found something this good and in a good package.

Strengths: Very nice all-in-one
Weaknesses: Big!
Overall Evaluation: This is a very nice all-in-one printer. It scans, faxes, copies, and prints. It's very fast! The starter toner cartridge includes enough ink for 1000 sheets of paper, or about half that a full sized cartridge would fulfill. This printer is big, so make sure you have somewhere to put it! It's also networkable, which is great if you have multiple computers and use your laptop anywhere in the house.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: All in one laser printer with built in Ethernet connection. Supports XP and Vista in 32 and 64 bits. Scanner is 1200 dpi. 50 sheet auto document feeder.
Weaknesses: Very expensive MSRP. The printer is only 600 dpi. Only a starter toner cartridge is included. No usb cable included.
Overall Evaluation: I purchased the HP M1522nf because I needed a all in one printer to support Vista. My old Canon AIO only had XP drivers and I?m switching over to Vista. I like that it has a network connection. I hooked it up to my router and all my computers have access to it. It prints fairly quickly and I can scan and fax from any computer. The retail price is way too high. There is a $200 rebate from HP which brings the price down. Also aftermarket toner cartridges are fairly inexpensive. This AIO works very well. I am very happy with its functions. But only buy it if you can get it heavily discounted.

Strengths: HP reliability (I hope), speed, great price after rebate
Weaknesses: User manual online
Overall Evaluation: This is one speedy little printer, and a laser is far cheaper per page than an ink jet for ongoing supplies. Couple this an its great scanner with a high end photo/color ink jet and you have all your printing bases covered. I've owned many printers over the years, both laser and ink jet and the HP has always been the standout in reliability. The 50 page feeder makes copying fast. In fact, I usually replace them only because of technology issues. Not having a hard copy manual can be a pain - but that is a little minor issue. With the great sale price and the nice rebate offer, I paid less than the cost of a replacement toner cartridge alone! I couldn't be happier.

Strengths: Easy install. Fast printing, copying and scanning.
Weaknesses: None so far
Overall Evaluation: Great multifunction printer for home office. It copies, scans and prints fast. Setup was easy with the included instructions. The actual manual for use is viewed through your PC though. I had one slight problem with paper jamming in the automatic document feeder the first time I used it, but it was probably because of the thinness of the paper going in and not the machine. Clearing the jam was tough though while simultaneously reading the on-screen manual figuring out how to.
