Strengths: Convenience. Internet Security - antivirus, anti-spyware and firewall require little attention.
Weaknesses: Lousy back-up tool - will not over-write previous back-up or back-up only new and changed files. Pathetic ID/password management. No way to manually force it to add passwords. You do it on N360 prompt or forget it.
Overall Evaluation: Stick with Internet Security. Extra frills in 360 are not worth 2 cents!

Strengths: is occasionally discounted
Weaknesses: too many to list
Overall Evaluation: I fix PCs for a large retailer. In the past few months I have had to cleanup many computers that were ravaged by visus's, malware. spyware or spam. All of them were fully protected by Norton. Go Figure.

Duration of ownership:3 Weeks
Strengths: Complete security coverage with little effort on user's part
Weaknesses: None at this time, like most security software can slow system down
Overall Evaluation: I have used and pretty much stuck with Norton products for many years now. This keeps me from having to learn how to use a different brand. Even though Norton updates each product every year, you know what to expect. When my Norton Internet Security 2007 recently expired, I chose to try the new 360 product especially now that a newer version was available. Very user friendly interface. It's set it up and almost forget about it - great for a "newbie". Website has great support. Using the Chat has mixed results, sometimes you get someone that can help. Great that Symantec always sends a follow-up email to ask if problem was resolved.

Strengths: all-in-one, antivirus, firewall, backup
Weaknesses: none
Overall Evaluation: Norton/Symantec has a reputation of keeping computers safe, and this version is no different. Easy to install with all-in-one protection. So I don't need to buy other software. My computer is safe against viruses from across the Internet. Recommended for any computer.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Online backup storage, comprehensive security suite
Weaknesses: Can be a resource hog
Overall Evaluation: Norton produced a nice product that provides firewall, antivirus, antiphishing, system management, and data backup resources in a single package. There is flexibility to store your backups on different types of media as well as using their 2GB of online storage. It can be a little draining on system resources at times, and no product can be completely 100% effective at eliminating all threats. However, for a simple to install and use system, the default levels of protection will be enough for the casual Internet user.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Better than 1.0
Weaknesses: Slows down PC
Overall Evaluation: Norton 360 2.0 is a great all-in-one security solution. With it, I don't have to install software from 5 different manufacturers to ensure that my computer is safe. And since its Norton, I know I can trust it. The software isn't nearly as bloated as the older versions, and still manages to be effective in the virus tests I've put it through.

Strengths: none
Weaknesses: none
Overall Evaluation: This software does its job at least will all basic internet security functions. The disappointing thing is that this version 2 does not come with a lot of new functions as I expected since I used version 1. So if you are still using version 1, I would not worry about upgrading to this version.

Strengths: All-in-one protection software that is easy to install.
Weaknesses: Will slow down your computer.
Overall Evaluation: Norton 360 is a great all-in-one software that will protect you against just about everything the Internet can throw at you. Like I tell everyone, this software isn?t fool proof and it won?t protect you against everything so you still have to be careful. A couple nice features of this software are the PC tuneup and automatic backup tools, which are not included in the Norton Internet Security software package. This software has its drawbacks too, one of being once you?ve installed it you?ll notice a decrease in performance. Norton 360 is somewhat hard to navigate through when you want to change settings, compared to Norton Internet Security. In all, I?d recommend this software particularly a novice just learning the PC because it?ll do everything for you.

Strengths: useful utilities combined under one software package
Weaknesses: price; similar utilities available under different software packages for less, from the same manufacturer.
Overall Evaluation: This is a useful software package combining my mostneeded applications: antivirus/antispyware/firewall and parental controls. It works well for the aforementioned areas. For less money comparable services canbe obtained in Norton's Internet Security. The main difference here with 360 seems to be the availability of 2 GB of secured online file storage/transfer.
