Overall Rating: 5 Star Review
Duration of ownership:1 Weeks
Strengths: Lightweight, excellent price
Weaknesses:
Overall Evaluation: This is the best dock I have ever used. It is designed better than it's predecessor. The AC adaptor is compatible with other ThinkPads, too. Well worth the cost!

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Ease of set-up, functionality
Weaknesses: None
Overall Evaluation: I purchased the Port Replicator after my desktop computer crashed, and was looking for another alternative: a new desktop, or a replicator for my laptop. The replicator virtually gives the laptop desktop functionality (provided you have a monitor and preferably an external keyboard and mouse).Set-up for the replicator was a breeze, and everything was up and running shortly after receiving the product!

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Easy to transport. Pretty light.Well designed. Accomondates the high-capacity battery that buldges out from the back of the laptop.Easy to un-dock the laptop.
Weaknesses: Seems too "light" and flimsy.Hard to tell if you've got the latptop fully latched in place on the dock.Only ONE USB port!
Overall Evaluation: This an awesome alternative to buying the Thinkpad Mini-Dock. The only difference is that the Port Replicator only has ONE USB port at the back, though you are still able to use the laptop's USB ports.I have a T42, and I am able to use this almost as a desktop replacement. I have two 19" TFT's that I plug into the Port Replicator's VGA and DVI ports and I am able to span my desktop across the two external monitors. The laptop LCD is disabled.I have my keyboard and mouse plugged into it, along with my printer. Great as a desktop replacement! However, I needed to buy a USB hub for additional USB ports.

Strengths: This is a very inexpensive replicator with all the necessary connecctions, great for home and office.
Weaknesses: It doesn't include a power adpater, however it pairs up nicely with the IBM AC/DC adapter.
Overall Evaluation: This unit is very small and convenient to use. It has all the needed ports. It also has a flip back door that accommodates the extended run time battery which my laptop came with. Cheap enough to get one for home and the office too.

Strengths: Easy to use, and great price.
Weaknesses: Does not work with my Belkin OmniView 4 port KVM
Overall Evaluation: Ordering process was simple and the shipping got here next day. The product works as designed. However, I could not use a Belkin OmniView 4 port PS/2 KVM. I have not tried any other KVM's with this product.

Strengths: The IBM ThinkPad Port Replicator II was very reasonably priced.
Weaknesses: Its a larger and a bit more bulky than previous models.
Overall Evaluation: Overall I find the port replication II very convenient to use. It was easy to setup and works as advertised. It saves me time since I don't have to plug in all the peripheral connections each time I go into the office.

Strengths: Seems to do everything you would want it to.
Weaknesses: Kind of clumsy
Overall Evaluation: Overall it works great and does exactly what it is intended to. The docking station is kind of awkward though and isn't necessarily "easy" to get in the station. Pops out easy and has no problems with any of the interfaces. I actually prefer the older, smaller design of previous IBM thinkpad models.

Strengths: The IBM port replicator II is lightweight and portable. The price was very reasonable.
Weaknesses: I would have preferred to attach my external floppy disk drive on the righthand side of my laptop.
Overall Evaluation: I previously used the original port replicator and docking stations, both IBM products. This new one is pretty convenient, although I had to search around and discover that 2 USB connections were actually on the laptop itself and the replicator adds a 3rd, but if you're right handed, you intuitively connect your mouse in the back i.e. to the device. I find it provides easy access for portability and mobility. Overall, I think the it will serve my needs well. I'd recommend it for savvy techies looking to maintain the best of desktop with laptop convenience.
