    Overall Rating: 5 Star Review

    Duration of ownership:10 Months

Strengths: Will truly take 7 connections unlike horizontal versions. I us two of these piggy backed with a 2 TB hard drive and a 350 GH hard drive plus several Flash drives with no problems.

    Weaknesses: None I can see.

    Overall Evaluation: Excellent product.

    Overall Rating: 5 Star Review

    Duration of ownership:2 Days

Strengths: Ports stacked vs side by side, ports all on one side, pwr & individual port LEDs not found on most units at this price, compatible w/Mac & PC new & old, backwrd compat w/USB 1.1

    Weaknesses: None

Overall Evaluation: I did a lot of research before buying. Dumped my 1.0 hub and bought 2 of these. They work great. A lot smaller than it looks in the photo (4" x 2"). So far I've tried 10 different devices (old and new), and they all work fine. I think the person that dinged this unit because of power limitations had a lemon or some other problem. The power light shows when you plug in the included power supply - the other lights and ports activate once you connect the included cable to the computer. The power supply appears to suppliment the amp load. You cant test "load" with a meter (they must have tested voltage which is not viable), but I can tell you that I'm using all ports and I've got several power hungry devices that use 500ma per port or more, and have experienced no problems.

    Duration of ownership:7 Days

Strengths: It has seven USB 2.0 ports.

Weaknesses: On mine, the power supply only powers the 'power' lamp on the hub, and does not power the actual USB hub ports.

Overall Evaluation: The power supply only powers the 'power' lamp on the hub, and does not power the actual USB hub ports. Therefore, after installing a few devices, there isn't enough power to go around and some devices are not recognized. (I tested the power coming out of the ports, and there was none.) Perhaps I am not the only one getting a 'lemon.' I would think some of the connectivity issues experienced by others may be because of this same flaw.

    Duration of ownership:2 Months

    Strengths: Small size, port layout

Weaknesses: problems with SanDisk flash drives

Overall Evaluation: I did not have any problems with this device until I started using it with my Sandisk cruiser and mini cruiser flash drives. I can read fine, but when I delete files or write to the flash disk, the computer drops the device. I've used the hub on 2 different systems with similar results, both running XP Pro. Other devices on the hub with no issues are a Maxtor One Touch, mouse/keyboard, and 2 printers.

    Duration of ownership:

    Strengths: Compact size, vertical ports

    Weaknesses: None

Overall Evaluation: Out of curiosity I connected the hub to the computer rear USB 2.0 port without providing AC power to the port. WinXP recognized it without any additional software and all the LEDs lighted up. So I have it working without AC. A joystick, scanner, digital camera and a Jumpdrive are connected to it (Joystick and jumdrive draw power from it) and I don't have any problem with it.) I tried file transfer speed and it took 45s to transfer 300Meg file from hard drive to jumpdrive. Same time with and without AC power. I don't quite see the reason for all the LEDs in there. In my case all of them are constantly lit, even when my computer is turned off. With modem LEDs, optical mouse LED and now USB hub LEDs constantly on, my computer room is pretty well lit up now!

    Duration of ownership:4 Weeks

Strengths: reliable device, fittable design for any silver lian-li pc case

Weaknesses: may be overloaded if used for charging devices like handhelds via usb port

Overall Evaluation: This USB hub is one of the best I've ever tried. It works perfectly fine however you should watch out for using its ports for charging other devices with mini USB cables (cell phones, pdas, bluetooth headsets) because it may be overloaded.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Small Size, seven hi-speed ports, vertical stacking of ports

Weaknesses: Power adaptor is on the opposite side of the hub

Overall Evaluation: This is a great USB hub. I was really impressed with its small size and ability to use each USB port since they are stacked vertically. The only thing that is a minor draw back for my set-up is that the ports and power input are on the opposite sides. This is not a problem if you keep it on a desk (in fact I thinks that is a plus) however, if you have to use this in a tight location cords come out of it from both sides so it may pose a problem. Overall I highly recommend it.

    Duration of ownership:40 Days

Strengths: elegent design, relatively small (for a 7 port unit), true usb2.0 speed

Weaknesses: compatibility issue with certain type of external hard drive.

Overall Evaluation: I have had this product for more than a month. Till now, it is working fine for most of the usb devices. I like the way the usb ports laid out, but the bulky power adaptor is a little annoying. The unit is very easy to install, no experience or software needed, just plug and play. The price, ofcourse is another pro for this product. However, I do find some compatibility issue with certain type of external USB hard drive. It fail to recognize the hard drive when all 7 ports are occupied.

    Duration of ownership:

    Strengths: Small size, light weight

Weaknesses: All 7 ports are on the same side, needs AC adapter

Overall Evaluation: I bought this product because I had lots of products quite a few external hard drives and printers that I wanted to access from the same desktop. It solved my problem wonderfully well. I works like a charm. Does not heat up. And the price is great as well. However it has couple of downsides: (1) it needs a bulky AC adapter (that comes with the package). That makes it a wee bit less portable. (2) As yo ucan see in the photo of the product, all the 7 ports are on the same side. This can make connecting the products a bit messy. Imagine 7 usb cables going into this thing. Believe me, it is indeed quite messy. However, on the whole, when compared to prices of a lot of other USB hubs, this is a great product at great price.
