Strengths: Best BANG for the BUCK, Easy to use, QUICK, Fast, Sleek Design, BEST-first GPS, Via point feature
Weaknesses:
Overall Evaluation: I have been using this GPS for about a month, and I simply love it. This is my first GPS. I am a student and did not want anything too expensive, but at the same time I wanted to get something that was GOOD. This fits both criteria of being cheap and GOOD. I totally love it and would recommend this to all, specially if this is your first GPS.

Strengths: Nice compact size...very, very small, Lightweight-5.2 ounces
Weaknesses: lacks the text-to-speech function. does not hold battery charge well.
Overall Evaluation: The Garmin Nuvi 200 is very easy to use and enter addresses into. This is important because if it wasn't simple to use my mom and dad would have a hard time getting anywhere and it would have been a waste of money. Getting a satellite signal outside or in the car has not taken longer then a few minutes even on overcast/cloudy days and calculating your route usually only take a few seconds. For one I wish you could enter a different starting location than where you currently are if only to plan ahead. Also, I would be nice if they included an AC adapter in the package instead of just a DC car charger. You will most likely not be leaving the device in your car so it would be nice to bring it in the home and charge. If you want to do this you will have to purchase the optional AC charger. The suction cup mount is nice but for me than only place it will stick to is my window and nowhere else. It will not stick anywhere to the dash or center console in my Durango.I am pleased and happy with the unit - Great Starter unit!

Strengths: This is a great entry level gps with no thrills but pretty precise directions.
Weaknesses: Units volume level is not that loud so when you open the windows with this unit it on it is hard to hear.
Overall Evaluation: I bought this unit for my wife, she swears by it. This unit provides a compact 3.5" lcd and voice prompts. This unit is surprising accurate for an entry level unit. I would say this is a great entry level GPS.

Strengths: Easy to use, Free '09 Map Upgrade, Points of Interest
Weaknesses: No TTS, ETA not always accurate, Odd best routes at times, Confusing directions sometimes
Overall Evaluation: This is my first GPS receiver and it gets the job done. Not really ever using a GPS before, I found it pretty easy to update and start using. Garmin provides a free upgrade to '09 maps. Points of Interest, where you can search for virtually any business such as restaurants, grocery stores, and hotels comes in really handy. The biggest thing lacking from this GPS is arguably the lack of talk to speech. Street names are not said by the voice. I've found that the ETA can sometimes not be right or slow to update. There are times where I've arrived a couple minutes to my destination before the ETA, yet it does not update to reflect. The route choices made are also sometimes questionable and not the way I would go. I haven't had any problems with inaccurate directions yet though. However, once when I was in Chicago downtown, it kept recalculating like every 10 seconds which was very annoying. The Garmin nuvi 200 is a nice entry GPS for those simply looking for something that can tell them how to get from one place to another.

Strengths: Compact enough to carry, easy to store at a terrific price.
Weaknesses: A little slow to aquire satellites sometimes and lacking the features of more expensive units.
Overall Evaluation: I have been using this unit for about a month and love it. The set up is easy and so is figuring it out without reading any of the limited instruction booklet. I was surprised at the ease of finding what I want from directions to restaurants to fuel. Reviews I have read said the unit does not have text to speech but the unit does tell you "turn in 500ft", "turn now" and so on which I find is more then enough without saying the street names. While this unit can't store your music library or let you use it as Bluetooth for your phone it does what it needs to, gets you to your destination at a price anyone can afford.

Strengths: Affordability, compact size.
Weaknesses: No voice street names.
Overall Evaluation: This is a tremendous value in a GPS device. The prices on these units have recently come down dramatically. My understanding is that they are being discontinued. As a result you can pick up this great little GPS for $150 or less if you shop around. It may not have all the bells and whistles but it gets you where you are going. Its highly recommended.

Strengths: 1 small and portable2 simple to use3. inexpensive4. good performance with accurate localization
Weaknesses: 1 some nuvi 200 devices may have the old map2 no TTS, so cannot report actual street names in turn-by-turn directions
Overall Evaluation: I like this small and simple GPS. No fancy functions like playing mp3 music. GPS is GPS, which should be devoted for navigation, right? This nuvi 200 is very easy to use with accurate localization performance. The only concern is that it cannot report acutal street names, but is this TTS function really important? At least not to me. As a budget GPS, it is among top choices.
