    Overall Rating: 3 Star Review

    Duration of ownership:

    Strengths: Intel dual core

Weaknesses: low ram, had a dead pixel

Overall Evaluation: Overall, this is a pretty good laptop for the price. The ram it comes with is rather low to run Vista though, so I highly recommend upgrading to at least 2GB. The Pentium Dual Core chip is simply a Core 2 Duo with smaller cache ram, so its performance is still excellent. Make sure you download the latest Acer bios as several problems have recently been fixed. On the down side, I had a dead pixel right in the center of the screen and Acer refused to fix it.

    Duration of ownership:12 Days

Strengths: low price, nice keyboard design

Weaknesses: bulky, 2 dim 1gb RAM

Overall Evaluation: This is a pretty good laptop for the price ($400); it has a 5-1 card reader, a firewire port, infrared port, pc card port to name the few. The only downside of this laptop is the 1gb ram. Not because 1gb is insufficient for Windows Vista but because the laptop has two 512MB RAMs installed in it. If you want to upgrade the ram to 2gb, you'll have to but two new 1gb RAM chips.

    Overall Rating: 4 Star Review

    Duration of ownership:50 Days

Strengths: (1) Price. (2) 5-in-1 card reader, 4 USB ports, 1 Firewire port, and 1 PCMCIA slot.

Weaknesses: 1GB RAM is barely sufficient for vista.

Overall Evaluation: I like this laptop because it provides very comprehensive connectivity options. Compared to many other laptops at similar prices, this one has 1 more USB port, and more impoartantly, it has 1 Firewire port and 1 PCMCIA slot, which is very important for my camcorder. 1GB RAM is barely enough for vista, but for running office applications and watching movies it is still ok, better upgrade to at least 1.5GB though.
