Strengths: Professional quality at a reasonable price.
Weaknesses: None for my purposes.
Overall Evaluation: I have used 35mm slr's for over 40 years as a professional. I found that with adaptors and long lenses, it was easy to convert to digital. The 2000th/sec allows me to hand hold a 300mm and 500mm lens. The multiple shot mode is quick and you can cover fast action without "burning film." The through the lens viewing makes it easier for precise focusing of manual lenses. A good camera for all around photography.

Strengths: Take really good picture and inexpensive for DLSR.
Weaknesses: Hot pixel, lack of features that many other smaller point and shoot camera offer, small LCD and Hand grip area feel small.
Overall Evaluation: A friend of mine and myself bought the same camera and discovered that at a long exposure of 5 sec and up...it started to produce red, blue or green dots on the picture. This only happen when the picture is zoom in. Please check hot pixel on google and you will find out what I am talking about. I am no expert at digital camera and dont know how does it compare with other digital camera. Newegg knew about this issue and was willing to exchange without a problem. Canon need you to send the camera to one of their canon factory service location for repair. Why would you want your camera refurbish when you bought it bland new.Hopefully this review will help some user out with the research.

Overall Evaluation: I can't share pictures on the internet, i can't find out how to change aperture in "manual". Many people say about fast focusing, i didn't find it fast, it cannot focus even when small object fits whole focus square. The rest will be later.

Strengths: Great Photos, Easy to learn, Versatile
Weaknesses: Menu is NOT as user friendly as most newbies need
Overall Evaluation: I LOVE this camera! The key to it's success is in the user's desire to use it. And, use it often. I have purchased several new lenses for this device, however, not one of the lenses in which I have invested can snap a photo any better unless I put the camera against my eye and do the work. It is a joy to go out each week and find new subjects, or models to photograph. I have come to love the study of light, color and speed that translates into a piece of photo-art. Couple my camera with the greatest photo printer on the market today, the HP 3210, and my hobby has grown to be my second greatest joy (after my 2 kids).

Strengths: The Body is one of the best
Weaknesses: the plastic lens it comes with is anything but acceptable. My G2 produces much better pictures when compared to the standard setup.
Overall Evaluation: I would buy this camera again. The body when combined with a good lens produces nothing but exceptional pictures. However, the supplied lens produces very soft pictures with less than acceptable color saturation. I purchased the 50mm 1.8 prime and the portraits are excellent. If I were to buy again, I would skip the lens - and no, I'm not one of those photo guys that believes you need to spend $1200 for a good lens.I would skip the lens and save the $50-100 -- it's really that bad. Put the money towards a Sigma or Tamron lens. They will run you a few hundred bucks.

Strengths: Image quality, functionality, low-noise at high ISO, lightweight, blazing fast start-up.
Weaknesses: Kit lens, tiny viewfinder, small grip, body build feels cheap.
Overall Evaluation: The 350D / Rebel XT is an amazing steal of a dslr camera at under $1000. I am very surprised that the image quality of this camera is near that of the 20D. This camera is very lightweight--I almost want to put it in my pocket. The start-up of this camera is nearly instant. No need to worry that you could miss that moment. This camera is also loaded with custom functions and highly configurable white balance settings. The controls on the back seem a bit cramped, but they are still easy to get to with your face in the viewfinder. The navigational buttons on the back are customizable to set different funtions as is the AE Lock button, to fit your particular shooting style. The one thing I would like to have had is the rear-dial in place of the 4-button navigation buttons. The viewfinder on this camera is tiny. I am guessing that is a function of the whole camera being smaller--including the grip, which most people have pointed out already. The body itself is made of a polycarbonate which doesn't feel very rugged in my hands. I always find myself wiping scratches off of the body.Overall, I really enjoy this camera. It is a great DSLR upgrade for those making the switch. In my opinion, all of its weaknesses are very tolerable. The 350D / Rebel XT coupled with high-end glass will give you such wonderful results, you will be amazed. Now's the time to buy since Canon is offering rebates!

Strengths: Image quality
Weaknesses: Small size and the plastic material they use for the body has got to be the worse thing ever. It picks up all of the dirt and oil from your hands.
Overall Evaluation: 90% of the 20D for 60% of the price. The BG-E3 battery grip comes in handy for regular to large size hands and for longer battery life. I have small hands and holding this camera was a little ackward for me. The battery grip made it much better.

Overall Evaluation: Keeping in mind that this is not designed to be a professional camera, it provides some great features for the price you pay. The picture quality is excellent and the speed and features are great for the price. Just remember to get a faster CF card to go with it.

Strengths: Everything!
Weaknesses: Considering cost..... NOTHING!
Overall Evaluation: You can not find a better camera in this price range anywhere. If you want something "better" you are going to have to get up off of alot more money. If you want to throw around a few hundred more dollars for another increment in ISO or so you can get a whopping 16 MB or 32 MB memory card that some other manufacturers supply you with their product,go for it. Gee, you may even get a lens tether STRING and possibly even a different neck strap. Seriously, can we talk?

Strengths: instant start-up, beautifully clear photos, easy-to-use
Weaknesses: does not come w/ CF card
Overall Evaluation: First off, I'm not a professional - just an average person who enjoys photography and being ablt to share beautiful photos. I've been using a film SLR and a point & shoot digital for the last several years & finally decided to go digital SLR. After doing research on features & prices and reading glowing professional reveiws on the Rebel XT, I settled on that. This camera is awesome! It's ready instantly, and paired w/ a Sandish Ultra II 1G CF card, I easily click off 3 frames per second on the burst mode and can take about 250 pictures in high quality jpg mode. I'm supposed to wear glasses but never do, and the dioptric adjustment is great - now I see a clear image thru the viewfinder w/out them. Thanks to the 8mp, pictures are beautiful, even after cropping. The automatic settings are great for people who've only used point & shoot cameras, although if you're only going to do that I'd recommended buying an advanced compact camera instead - SLRs are much larger and heavier. I use the "creative zone" frequently. I'm not sure why they didn't just label the aperature priorty AP, and the shutter priority SP - Av & Tv throws me off for a second. Downsides were: having to get a CF card separately (beginners, do some research before buying a card - they read & write at different speeds, and you want to take full advantage of the camera's capabilities). Also, the built-in flash makes a loud ka-POP noise when it comes up - takes a little getting used to & sometimes people think the photo's already taken when they hear it. The kit lens feels rather cheap, but I think most buyers expect to be purchasing different lenses anyway. The included 18-55 lens won't give you the telephoto you'll want for sports and zooming in on the action. I found the included software to be pretty basic, and ended up using Adobe Photoshop 7.0 (which I already had) instead for any editing or enhancing. I look forward to years of great pics w/ the Rebel XT & highly recommend it.
