Overall Rating: 3 Star Review
Duration of ownership:2 Years
Strengths: nice shape; not heavy, nice looking, nice pics
Weaknesses: batteries- they didn't work a long time; long time beetwen next shots
Overall Evaluation: 2 years ago I got this camera as a gift. I really liked it, because it was small and looked good in silver colour. more, I took pics and usually I really liked them. sometimes I took really nice pics.unfortunatelly, the camera stopped to work well. I got problems with batteries and this year lens brokien. I don't know why. I left this camera and now I'm going to buy something better. I'm thinking between Canons digital cameras or Fuji FinePix S6000 FD. I saw different positive reviews and videos about this camera and I liked it. more, it has a really nice features. so maybe I will choose this one...

Strengths: Batteries last okay. Fits in your pocket, Shoots Quick Time movies in a pinch.
Weaknesses: Blury Pics, Flash recovery takes 10 secs, front lens cover doesn't close all the way,Doesn't focus in low light, You just have to guess and shoot no matter what setting you're on.
Overall Evaluation: I wish I had purchased a Canon. I have always loved the quality my Nikon 35mm camera produced. So, naturally I trusted that their 5600 Coolpix would have the same quality or close to it. NOT!!! I spent around $300 after buying the Flash Card, Batteries and Charger only to find out I bought JUNK. My friend bought an $89 Kodak Digital Camera and I tried it for a day and I got better results from it and cried over the money I threw away on my Nikon 5600.

Duration of ownership:16 Months
Strengths: Size, AA battery ease of replacement, SD
Weaknesses: Indoor shoot times are horrible.
Overall Evaluation: I bought this camera just before my son was born and once he started moving around on his own we missed tons of great shots as this camera takes forever to focus and pop the flash and then takes another good five seconds to recharge the flash. By then my son is on to something else and we missed the shot. I cannot emphasize enough how slow this camera is indoors. Outdoors is much better, but not blazing by any means.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Small, AA battery use, Great outdoor pics
Weaknesses: Flash recharge time is close to 10 sec, Terrible! You can update the firmware for nikon cameras, but as of yet there is no update for this camera.
Overall Evaluation: I would not buy this camera. The flash issue is to big a problem and I have tried digital rechargables batteries.... no good. Tried indoor photo's with no flash, adjusting the ISO/ASA, blurry. Even when I eposure compensate. Nikon dropped the ball. I am really hoping a firmware updat will address these issues. Very unhappy.

Duration of ownership:5 Months
Strengths: Small
Weaknesses: Too many blurry pictures
Overall Evaluation: I am very, very unhappy with this camera. It takes too long to re-charge, 2-3 seconds. I took pictures of the family at the holidays, The children's pictures came out as little blurs on the screen. Even the adults were blurry. I purchased it only last August and I am so unhappy that I am already looking for a replacement. I am much happier with the pictures I took with my 35 mm.

Duration of ownership:4 Months
Strengths: Small
Weaknesses: Battery Cover cracked in first 2 months of ownership. Difficult to focus
Overall Evaluation: Nikon would not stand by its warranty and charged me $117 to fix the broken cover. The cover first cracked because it is difficult to close it (it closes in a very non-traditional way). I was always faithful to Nikon but after the way they treated me with the warranty (they completely broke off the cover and then sent me pictures to show me that it was excessive wear and tear), I will NEVER buy a Nikon again. I was considering the Canon at the time and will now buy Canon in the future. Nikon lost a customer for life for the sake of a $117 repair charge.

Duration of ownership:1 Weeks
Strengths: Easy to use. Takes great pictures.
Weaknesses: None.
Overall Evaluation: This camera is very easy to use. Use it as a point and shoot or change the settings and use it for the specific situation. The camera is also light weight and easy to handle. This camera does everything I was looking for in an inexpensive digital camera. It has a great zoom and you can also do a short video. The video and sound can be played back on the LCD screen or on the T.V. or computer. It also has a red-eye fix built right in to the camera so you don't have to correct it on your computer. You can't go wrong with this camera.

Duration of ownership:10 Days
Strengths: Small size, easy to handle, AA batteries and above all picture quality
Weaknesses: No memory card included. Camera takes extra time in between pictures to recharge the flash.
Overall Evaluation: Nikon has very good reputation for cameras and so far I am pleased with the performance of this compact camera. Picture quality is nice. It has lots of presets to choose from and hence good for new users. The camera uses 2 AA batteries and this is very helpful especially during travel since you will get AA batteries everywhere on earth.I have used Kodak & Canon before and from my experience, it is better than Kodak and comparable with Canon.

Duration of ownership:2 Months
Strengths: small size, lots of built in picture modes - little work involved in taking pictures
Weaknesses: sometimes in certain modes, no matter how steady you hold your hand, the picture comes out blurry nevertheless. camera turns off when batteries are depleted without warning.
Overall Evaluation: the camera is nice for the price but the quality isn't so great. most of the time the pictures are great if taken outside. when i take pictures inside under artificial light, the colors always come out wrong. while the pictures don't necessarily look "bad" they are not true to life. skin tones don't come out correctly. outside pictures are great and i especially like the quality of the pictures taken of things under water. I take pictures of the fish in our pond and the pictures come out great. the camcorder mode is super, there is good sound and lots of different settings for video quality. moreover, the camera continues taping as long as there is still memory in the camera or card. the camera does flash a warning when batteries are "low" but you have no idea how low until it just turns off.
