Overall Rating: 4 Star Review
Duration of ownership:10 Days
Strengths: Combo Unit, Progressive Scan, VCR Plus+ Capable
Weaknesses: Colors of display look cheap - green digits, orange DVD light
Overall Evaluation: I purchased a Sony D550P in March 2005 and liked it enough to buy another one in Feb 2006, but model number had changed to D560P. They appear to be essentially the same. The D560P has a well laid out remote that fits well in hand. VCR Plus+ works well for recording to VHS tape. Progressive scan DVD is the way to go. Don't buy a player without it. Display colors could be improved. I prefer the blue used on other Sonys, this one uses green, with orange "DVD" when that side is selected. Otherwise, I'd rate this unit 5 stars.
