  Strengths: Nothing in particular

  Weaknesses: Needs its own software to operate. Bad antenna positioning.

  Overall Evaluation: Let's see.... Where to begin.... When I first put it in, the antenna was always interfering with the rest of the cables coming out of the back of my computer. That is, it would hit my soundcard stuff, my monitor cable, etc. It's as if they designed it for one of those computers that sits sideways under your monitor. Then the software. It needs its proprietary driver/controller software to work. You can't just install a driver, and let Windows control it. To top it off, the software is pretty crappy.Once you get everything installed, it takes a lot of effort for it to find a network. If it connects, great. If it drops the connection again, it takes a few minutes for it to find it again.I bought this one the premise that USR made good stuff. I guess things have changed from when I remember them.

  Overall Evaluation: Very happy with it and the company's delivery and service thus far. Getting a strong signal immediately. Good quality name and reputation. Affordable. Ease of installation.While I'm getting a strong signal, I am still struggling with getting a page to view in my browser. This is no reflection whatsoever on Eagle Computer Systems or US Robotics (both with whom I am very satisfied), but with a slight incompatibility of the router being used and the the Adapter I purchased. I just have to get the proper settings and hope to be successful soon. Would purchase from this company again.

  Strengths: Works great, even better than integrated wireless card on my laptop.

  Weaknesses: N/A

  Overall Evaluation: When you install drivers, also installs USR wireless program, with which one you can configure everything. I didn't like it very much, but as long as card works fine I have no problems.

  Strengths: Excellent signal strength, compact size, has the ability to dobule the speed with a USR Router.

  Weaknesses: None that I have really found

  Overall Evaluation: It's an overall good wireless card for desktops. I had tried another card and the signal strength was poor (about 12%-20%) but with this card, I can get 65%-75% signal strength (and that is from approximately 60 feet away, one story up, in an "electronically cluttered" area). Pretty good in my opinion...

  Overall Evaluation: Replaced a defective microsoft adapter. It was very easy to install even though router is a different brand. Got strong throughput where had previously been weak. Have not had to use tech support. Got this for a very low price with rebate. Recommended.

  Strengths: Gain in db has made the difference! Stable and easy to install. Excellent updated software.

  Weaknesses: unknown as yet!

  Overall Evaluation: Don't expect a quick fix for any bugs as USR gets in no hurry from my experience. From May to July last year I waited for them to correct their software for the 2216 wireless cards like they said and for almost two years before they attempted to correct the 5610B modem problems. I purchased one of these USR5416 cards yesterday to use with my USR8022 gateway and other USR2216 cards. I'll get back here to tell how, if it works with my 22Mbps. system as it is supposed to. I should know its performance soon. Hopefully, it won't be like my other USR experiences. As USR states this card has +16 to -18 Db. gain I do expect it to be better as the earlier 22Mbps. system I have are stated by USR to operate at +10 to -14 Db. gain and that improvement alone should make a difference in connectivity. I just hope USR has published reliable specifications this time. I'll rate accordingly then. The product may be good now, (I hope) but I doubt USR's poor customer service has changed even a little. This is based upon my personal experience with USR, a USR5610B Performance Pro modem, a USR8022 gateway, and two USR2216 wireless cards. ***UPDATE 4/17/04*** This cards a definite winner! Powerful over some distance, 80' behind walls (one brick) from my gateway, in my case. Giving me 100% link quality. ***UPDATE 8/6/04*** This card works so well I purchased a USR5450 and another USR5416. Now I find they have new updated 125Mbps software as if improvement was needed - it wasn't. My connections are secure, stable, and I have the highest of connection speeds over some distance. USR is showing definite improvement in my opinion. Haven't tried the 125Mbps software yet but I'm actually looking forward to it just to see what it will do to an already great system. I may replace my USR8022 Gateway soon in favor of the USR8054 just for the high wireless speed increase and stability I'm experiencing with USR's wireless G products.

  Strengths: Strong signal, even through a wall. Fast speeds. Very easy to install.

  Weaknesses: LAN file sharing issues.Small bug with ASCII WEP keys (you cannot use characters other than 0-9, A-F, even in ASCII rather than HEX mode) - I've read that this will be fixed in a firmware update.

  Overall Evaluation: I purchased this card along with the US Robotics Turbo Wireless G router. Both were easy to install and set up and I was surfing the web across the wireless connection in minutes. (this may take a little longer if you are not familiar with installing hardware into a desktop PC) Otherwise, this is a very strong product and I'd recommend it to anyone.

  Overall Evaluation: Spent a bit of time researching the various manufacturers of Wireless G and am confident that I made the right choice with US Robotics. I intalled their Turbo PC Adapter, PCI Card in my laptop and the Turbo 802.11G Router. All were easy to install and setup and have been pleased with the speed and signal strength.

  Strengths: Wireless signal strength through floors and walls; wireless speed seems same as wired connection

  Overall Evaluation: I purchased the USR5416 Wireless PCI Adaptor through eWiz.com on 11/12/2003 and received it 11/18/2003. It was installed and working that evening. I ran installation software twice; pre-hardware installation and again after first internet connection failed. The second time after I checked "yes" to product registration, my internet connection was made. My internet speed seems comparable to the wired connection when I was next to the U.S. Robotics Wireless Turbo Router - USR8054. When I moved my computer upstairs, the internet speed was the same.
