Overall Rating: 4 Star Review
Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Spotlight and Dashboard features. Speed and reliability (no crashes).
Weaknesses: Requires more memory to run effectively on older macs.
Overall Evaluation: The Tiger OS is a nice leap forward and helps keep the Mac OS way ahead of any Windows alternative. Since we have 4 Macs in the "family" this product is a very good deal vs. buying one system per computer. The speed and reliability alone are worth the cost but the extra features added mke this purchase a no-brainer for any Mac enthusiast.

Overall Rating: 5 Star Review
Duration of ownership:1 Months
Strengths: Faster, tremendous new features, less common so hacked less. Definitely worth the dough for the update.
Weaknesses: Would have been nicer if it had been better prepared for release. Some updates right after release.
Overall Evaluation: Just a wonderful operating system. Can you think of another operating system that was released with lots of great new features that ran FASTER on old hardware? (My old 800Mhz emac is peppy with Tiger.) I'm still finding new great details. But about the details, while I was unaffected, Apple issued an update at an unseemly early date. I wish they had checked the os in more environments.Lastly, enjoy the unpopularity of the OS with hackers! Who cares why the os has few viruses, worms, etc.? Take advantage! My windoze box requires constant attention, my macs are trouble free.
