    Strengths: It is easy & intuitive to use. It is an excellent backup program for multiple drives including those on other network computers. Full or incremental restores from the backup files couldn't be easier.

    Weaknesses: None found in 2 years

    Overall Evaluation: After trying four other programs to backup 7 drives locally & over a network, I finally found Drive Image. It has been dependable, backing everything up nightly without my having to do anything except have the computer on. I've used it to restore full drives & pieces of drives without losing ANY information. I highly recommend this software

    Strengths: Would produce nice fast backups with good size compression.

    Weaknesses: Very tricky to get to work. Erratic undependable backups due to errors of file corruption when you test the file.

    Overall Evaluation: Install is tricky. Need to get 7.3 upgrade but when it's installed there's no clear indication the software was updated. Can only backup a drive to another drive on the same IDE channel. Solid Corruption errors if the drivs are spread across IDE channels (ie: Primary and Secondary channels.) Can't restore out of windows. Restore won't run standalone or under DOS. Doesn't restore root drives correctly. Leaves,or updates, MBR incorrectly. MBR has to be manually corrected. Something most users would have difficulty doing. This is especially bad on drives with multi root drives and multiple systems. Won't even run from Safe Mode. Throws Server Initialization Error even though system has no network connection therefor no server. NOT A GOOD CHOICE!!!! I've submitted this to Symantec but I don't expect a clear cut answer if they live up to prior encounters.

    Strengths: nice user interface, easy to use

    Weaknesses: copy of drive was unbootable, file sharing was disabled on home network, needed Microsoft Net Framework installed to use this product, which changed some settings on computer.

    Overall Evaluation: Copied old drive to new one, was fast and easy. Turned off computer and put new drive as master. Tried to boot up, and only got WindowsXP startup screen, wouldn't go any further. Maybe it would work better if you could run it from DOS, but I haven't figured out if that can be done yet. So far, no joy with this product. Also, I can't use file sharing on my home network after installing this product.

    Strengths: Fast imaging that was simple to set up

    Weaknesses: Unpredictable results

    Overall Evaluation: After installing I noticed strange results on my XP machine. When attempting to run Broderbund's greetingcard software, Drive Image would attempt to re-install itself. Removed Drive Image and re-installed. Also, put on newest 7.01 bug fix version. This caused program to no longer run at all. Removed the software completely and I am looking elsewhere for something less time consuming to get going reliably.

    Strengths: The software works well from within XP Pro. I had used there DOS version 3.02 since 2000 and it worked fine.

    Weaknesses: They charge for 6 day old fixes to there software.

    Overall Evaluation: I purchased Drive Image 7.0 on, 9 Oct 2003 and found out you made a fix and called it 7.01 per your web page. I was very unhappy that I had to pay $5.75 for a new CD on, 15 Oct 2003 for a fix of only SIX days. A real rip off. I then received the CD I loaded it and in the Help About, it shows that I have loaded 7.0 not the 7.01 that I had to pay for. There is NO verification on the software that I got what I had to pay for. I had to call and spend more of my time and your customer service persons time to answer this question. This is VERY poor programming to not put the change in the Help> About screen.

    Strengths: Nice user interface. Seems to work on a stand alone PC

    Weaknesses: Installation disables local network

    Overall Evaluation: Unable to use this product as installation disables file sharing on a small home network. Unable to get assistance from vendor without paying an additional $30. Very poor support for a $70 product. Web site technical support does not even mention this version of Drive Image at all! Last PowerQuest Product I will buy!

    Strengths:

    Weaknesses: won't work in a multi boot system.

    Overall Evaluation: PowerQuest was very deceptive in their advertisement. They never mentioned that Drive Image7 will not work in a a muti boot system. It was only mentioned at the very end of their readme file which is after installing the software.
