Overall Rating: 2 Star Review
Duration of ownership:1
Strengths: velocidad, precio, capacidad

Strengths: Fast 3mb/s sata interface. Great cost per Gigabyte.Excellent Warrantee.
Weaknesses: None
Overall Evaluation: I have been using this drive continuously for the past 60 days with no problems. This is a superb choice for those who need to store large amounts of audiovisual material on their computers. This device runs on my continuously on network server. I would recommend it to anyone who requires large amounts of data storage.

Strengths: It's over 1 TB, price is good
Weaknesses: Slows my WinXP Pro system to a crawl while in my SATA enclosure, causes frequent system freezeups and crashes, doesn't save data
Overall Evaluation: I had heard that there were issues w/this type of 1.5 TB drive, but mainly in using them in RAID arrays. As I was going to place it in an eSATA enclosure and use it as a storage/backup drive, I figured it would be fine. Unfortunately, it slowed my system to a crawl, froze it and locked it up every time I attempted to copy data over to it - so I had to return it after two days. :(

Strengths: My computer finally sees the hard drive. Hugh back up capacity. Allowed me to free up space on WD raptors so I could play more games, or just free up space on the other hard drives.
Weaknesses: Had to have admin privileges to assign hard drive letter, and format the drive.
Overall Evaluation: Had this hard drive over a week, but only been able to use it the last 3 days. My computer had a hard time seeing the drive. Tried uninstalling drivers, and trying newer drivers but still would not work. Tried uninstalling hard drive and reinstalling it. No luck. Finally went into administrative options and was able to see hard drive and assign a drive letter and format the drive. Works great so far. I'm giving it a higher rating to off set the negative I posted a few days ago. I would purchase again knowing what I know now.

Strengths: Massive storage in single drive
Weaknesses: Needs updated firmware if early shipment.
Overall Evaluation: Most recent shipments from Mwave have newer version of drive with newer firmware. Older version can get firmware update for RAID issue. Seems to work ok so far. We have drives where we updated firmware and they worked for some iSCSI work.

Duration of ownership:1 Weeks
Strengths: Massive storage space, single drive, NCQ
Weaknesses: Apparently bad in RAID setups
Overall Evaluation: This drive is an awesome deal for the price. Got it at TigerDirect for $150. I haven't run any actual benchmarks yet on it, but have not had any problems copying files to/from and streaming video off of it. Lots of people on newegg are knocking it for hiccups in RAID configs. Something to do with an error in the firmware. While I have yet to test NCQ functionality, as my MB doesn't support it, I have to say that for now that the drive has been great. If for single drive storage, probably a safe buy. If for a RAID setup, I'd hold off until people online start to get newer revisions.
