    Overall Rating: 5 Star Review

    Duration of ownership:1 Months

Strengths: photo quality, auto setting is more accurate than most, love the higher ISO with reduced noise, size

    Weaknesses: very happy with camera

Overall Evaluation: This is my 5th or 6th nikon digital. I have most recently been using the D80, a camera which I will still carry and found this slight upgrade to be well worth the money. I mated it with a battery pack and have found the battery life to be tremendous. During the month I have owned the camera I have taken close to 1000 pix in snow, beach and low light conditions and like it very well.

    Overall Rating: 5 Star Review

    Duration of ownership:1 Months

    Strengths: Fast 9-Point Focus; Great Low Light Performance; Sharp LCD Screen; HD Video; Long Battery Life; Size; Solid Build;

Weaknesses: Heavy for its 'compact' size'; Backlight on the Control Panel LCD Screen not bright enough; A bit cumbersome to activate "Timer".

Overall Evaluation: A camera that packs a big punch but without the bulk of the average sized DSLR. The body is smaller than the prosumer/professional DSLR's, which is perfect for the average enthusiast/hobbyist. I mated it to a 18-250mm lens and took it on a trip recently. That was all I needed to get wide and zoom shots. I had the "Auto Mode" set most of the time and all the shots came out very nice! The few times I used "Manual Mode" to tweak the Shutter, Aperture, ISO settings, the shots were amazing.

    Duration of ownership:4 Months

    Strengths: AWESOME

    Weaknesses: little heavier than D80

Overall Evaluation: It's the best camera I have ever used. I upgraded from D80 and I found it's very nice upgrade from Nikon. Higher ISO, MP, Big LCD, HD Video...everything is simply great! Semi-Pro DSLR

    Duration of ownership:2 Weeks

Strengths: * Superior resolution* Fast speed* Video mode

    Weaknesses: None

Overall Evaluation: I replaced a Nikon D40 with this camera. While I would put the video recording and live view features of the N90 into "nice to have" category, the new camera's picture quality is excellent! My favorite feature of this camera is ability to shoot RAW+JPG (high-quality) at the same time. The camera's memory cache appears to be large enough to shoot at 3 images/second speed with highest quality RAW+JPG setting (about 16MB per image) without noticeable degradation in memory writing speed.

    Overall Rating: 5 Star Review

    Duration of ownership:2 Days

Strengths: High ISO image quality. That's worth all the money you paid.

Weaknesses: No for the price of $1000.

Overall Evaluation: 12MP pixel is a little higher because I think 8-10MP is about the right size for a serious user in taking family pictures. The image quality is as high as what you expect from Nikon. This D90 has very clean image at high ISO even at 6400. That is most useful feature for a family use camera. Active D-Lighting is very useful to keep both the highlight and shadow details. The focusing is fast and accurate. You'll have high probability to get sharp images of your kids in sports because of the 3D tracking AF mode. The camera is excellent as a still camera, no complaint at all for $1000 at the level of D80.The D-Movie (video) function is a bonus for you to taste movie filming. No AF, no auto exposure in taking video clips. But that is about the right thing. I can image that Auto focus would be annoying when a fly-in object distract the focus. Auto exposure is also annoying which will make the scene unpleasant. The only drawback of D-Movie is that the image is not smooth when the camera moves. But again, this D90 is a still camera and at $1000 you can take video with wide angle and with very shallow DOF.

    Overall Rating: 5 Star Review

    Duration of ownership:5 Days

Strengths: Lightweight, very fast, excellent photos

Weaknesses: Not full frame, ISO control

Overall Evaluation: I owned a d70 for the last 5 years and have been unhappy with it's low light high ISO performance. In comes in the d90. It's a little heavier than the d70 but much lighter than the d300. it takes excellent photos, esp in low light. i can bump the iso to 3200 and have reasonable noise which i can't evne see on a printed 4x6. i would definitely recommend to anyone who is interested in an upgrade from d70.
