Strengths: Very fast virus scan, low impact on system resources, extremely accurate anti-phishing, lightening fast install, etc.

Overall Evaluation: Excellent product! With a few minor changes, it would be perfect!

Overall Rating: 4 Star Review
Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Product is now much less resource intensive, less intrusive. Updates are smaller and occur more often.
Weaknesses: CD only contains minimum product content. If you have an dial-up connection, be prepared to wait while it downloads 32-39 MB of updates.
Overall Evaluation: Product now exhibits better feedback when performing Live Update. Rather than just saying "Processing", it now provides progress (not a bar) with current and totals in KBs/MBs.

Overall Rating: 5 Star Review
Duration of ownership:5 Months
Strengths: Speedy installation; honest reporting of resource hit; intuitive; built-in password vault; 3-PC license
Weaknesses: Online activation and have to setup account
Overall Evaluation: This is easily Symantec's best release of this product! I have read that the 2009 release was a total ground up design, and it seems so. Installation took about two minutes, and only required one reboot. You do have to activate the product, which can be an issue if you are one who frequently does fresh OS installs. This is a 3-PC license, allowing you to install on up to three computers in your home. The title is misleading, as it's technically not three users, just three PCs. You also have to create a Norton Account online, which is convenient in that it keeps your keys and registration deadlines in one place, but I don't like giving up personal information! This is the fastest and lightest NIS ever! I don't even know its running, and I almost never get annoying pop-ups, which I would get with the 2007 release. There is a little meter which tells you how much their software is using of your CPU! I also like that they now integrated their old Norton Password Manager product. I was not able to read-in my old password vault from that product, however.

Duration of ownership:20 Days
Strengths: Works during idle time. Doesn't seem to be a memory hog like previous versions. Not overly intrusive.
Weaknesses: The spam filter is absolutely worthless. It catches personal email and doesn't filter obvious spam.
Overall Evaluation: I would have given 5 stars if the spam filter was of any use whatsover. Otherwise, this is much better than previous versions of Norton. It does not bog down my computer.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: noticeably faster performance
Weaknesses: installation asks for sign ups regarding unnecessary informational requirements. expanded parental controls would make the product more useful. Price is a little steep.
Overall Evaluation: In the past, I always dreaded installing Norton software as it took so long and was so bloated. this product installs noticeably quicker, and with less evident system drain. This software package has it all: spyware, email scanning, antivirus, and many others. Though some files qualify for a "white list" or not requiring scanning as often, it would help if Norton came up with a better/faster way to avoid scanning all files every time a scan is done. Missed some spyware that another program caught.

Overall Rating: 5 Star Review
Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Low Memory Impact, Well Organized, Frequent Updates, Sleek and Efficient
Weaknesses: Occasional Internet Explorer Crashes
Overall Evaluation: I've been an on-and-off again user of the Norton products for a long time now, and this is easily the best Internet Security variant yet.Completely revamped, it's sleek and efficient, and does what it should. Barely noticeable impact on my computer's memory (comparable to Norton 360), and very quick about catching things it should. Very much like their new frequent update system, and the way it's able to intelligently do full system scans in the background without me even noticing. Also like how easy it is to set up for basic users (e.g., older relatives), while also maintaining easy tweaking ability for power users. The current setup of allowing the standard purchase to be used on 3 PC's is excellent, as is Norton's now ongoing system for users to easily upgrade from prior versions.Do wish they would reinstate the ad blocking capability they had up until the 2007 version, but it's not terribly difficult to find other replacements for that feature.Ever since installation, I've also had a problem with Internet Explorer crashing perhaps once per day. Logs indicate it's coming from Norton's Identity Safe module (which I use). I'm not sure if the problem would manifest for those who turn off the feature, but I'm not the only person reporting it, and it has yet to be fixed.All-in-all, this is probably the version of Norton that people have been waiting for for years. A big thumbs up.
