Ken Winograd and Space-Time Associates have announced a new version of TinyBooks, the accounting software for Mac OS X. It costs US$49. A demo is available.

TinyBooks manages accounts using single-entry bookkeeping. The software is aimed at sole proprietors, home and other small businesses, and people looking for family finance software. You enter expenses and income, and TinyBooks generates reports, provides search capabilities and more.

New to the 6.0 release are new auto-comment and auto-check number features. Also revamped in this release are the Reports and Transaction Search window. Find and Find Again have been added to Monthly windows, invoice customizations have been greatly improved, and multi-country tax support has been improved as well.

System requirements call for Mac OS X 8.6 or later (with CarbonLib 1.6 or later installed) and Mac OS X. The software also operates on Intel Macs.
