Tweak Photos in a Flash with IrfanView

Whenever I upgrade to a new PC, one of the first programs I install is IrfanView. This longtime favorite lets me view, crop, resize, enhance, and convert any image. Granted, there are countless other programs that do likewise, but IrfanView has several points in its favor.

For starters, it's tiny: a mere 1.25MB download. Once installed, it loads in an instant. (Seriously, no other program on my PC runs faster.) It supports a huge range of file formats (including EPS) and includes a couple dozen effects filters. I particularly like the interface: It barely has one.

Best of all, IrfanView is a freebie (though the author does accept donations). I use it almost constantly throughout the day to capture, crop, and convert screenshots.
